Those of you that watched today's game know exactly why I'm asking this?
Matt Moore was practically delhomme-like in his QB play today. It was painful to watch.
So, how much more do we need to see before we give him a 1 way trip to the bench?

He was terrible, but so was that offensive line. Tough to say.

Exactly. With Jake, it was more bad throws when he had time. Matt had virtually no time to throw. Clausen would have only been worse.

I dont know if Jimmy would have thrown 3 freaking INT's in the EndZone tho. Good God, that was pathetic. But it may be academic anyway. Word I have heard on the TV and Radio is that it is very likely Matt is held out next week. All the off season talk about concussions and the reprocussions almost certainly means he is out next week. Best case scenario for Jimmy to be forced into a start. Panther's home game, with fans cheering him on, and against a not so good Tampa Bay team. This is his ideal start, so I expect the FO to say they are holding Matt out for 1 week, and see how Jimmy does. And if he lights it up and Carolina wins handily, Week 3 will be a very interesting call by the Coaching staff as to who plays.

Is it too earlier to start Mike Goodson at QB? I really don't want him throwing the ball (ever). But he can hand off to Deanglo or Stewart and everything 5th time, run a wingback sweep to Steve Smith. On short yardage, we'd just run a QB draw....everytime.
Yeah I know it's the single wing, but it might produce better results.

It can't possibly be any worse

I dont think JC would have floated passes into tripple coverage.

Aghhh! The rat bastard plays for the wrong team, though! And just watch. The rest of the year, he will suck.

I started Arian Foster, Matt Forte and Nicks in FF. I think ill win because of him.

Here is comes. If he performs well in the Tampa game, the Clausen Era may be starting soon.

Well, it appears Matt Moore will get the start Sunday against Tampa Bay. But he cannot afford to make the same bad plays as last week. He'll get yanked. Hopefully he plays better.

Here's Jimmyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone wishing for Jack Yet?
I'm still holding out for the single-wing (no Quarterback, 3 back offense)

Well, Jimmy got into a groove and got them to 1st and goal. One pass, and then the OC calls for 3 straight running plays? WTF is he thinking? You need 2 scores and you are under 5 minutes. Pass and either score or the clock stops. You know the Bucs D is planning for the run, so pass the damn ball. The INT at the end was a bad pass, but it was tipped by the receiver.
I still think Moore starts game 3. But his leash is now very very short.

start Armanti. He's a better QB than Clausen and Moore by far

Jeff Davidson has the offensive imagination of a rock.
Clausen looked good, Moore just doesn't know how to get rid of the ball. He just stands like a lost kid in a mall.

Well, when Pat Y. says it is time to turn to Jimmy Clausen, I think that is what you will see.

I know crapall about NFL really (I have played a few NFL games in my life though, and watched a few movies) but surely the Fake 23 Blast will fix all your problems. Also sounds like the Panthers are just as bad as the Bobcats (previously were), if not worse.

You sound like Denzel Washington in Remember the Titans

I promise you, after we are 2 games into the NBA season (or 10 games to be fair since the Panthers only get 16 games) we as Bobcat fans will still have the playoffs in our hopes for the year. The Panthers are already done, they'll most likely lose the next two games at a minimum.

To be fair though, the Panthers have the youngest team in the league

My AFL (Australian Football League) team also is the youngest team in the league and we get smashed week in week out. Thank God the 2010 season is over. Is the Panthers full of scrubs like my AFL team? We got people who can't even do a simple kick, and their paid professional athletes
And yes BlockParty, it is a reference to Remember the Titans. A great movie that one.

Clausen to start Sunday. Give him this year to learn, and next year I think the kid will be a solid starting QB with the potential to be an above avg QB.

Armanti is a better athlete, but not better QB. Armanti will turn into a quality weapon as a slot receiver.

He will suck at receiver. He's the greatest D1AA quarterback ever by far (better than Romo, Flacco, McNair etc) and we are wasting his talents at WR. Thats like drafting Jerry Rice, TO, Randy Moss out of their small schools and moving then to QB or RB. Stupid. He's way more talented than Clausen
not a panthers fan. they actually keep me from watching either the steelers or redskins on many weeks. but, word to the wise, rushing a rookie qb to start when not ready can be a career ender. tread carefully.

I'm excited to see what Clausen can do. I hope he gets the protection he needs from the O-Line and can show everybody whats up.

I second that. I'm not a Browns fan but live in Ohio with tons of Browns fans. Suspect offensive line and overall team? Check. Rookie QB? Check. Welcome to Tim Couch.
I think Clausen is ready to play. He started the last 3 seasons at Notre Dame on a team that wasn't that good. He's familiar with shaky line play, and he's familiar with the plays that the Panthers run. He's got the demeanor, the talent and the size to play in the league.
I expect him to learn. I expect mistakes. I expect there to be 3-4 interception games ... however, I also expect him to learn from them and learn what NOT to do.
What spurred this was that Matt Moore looked lost on the field. He wasn't making anything happen. He was throwing bad, BAD picks, not completing passes, getting sacked. Sure, the system sucks and the receivers suck ... but when I was at the game last week, you could see there were a plethora of options and plays to be made -- he just missed them all. THAT was the reason why he was yanked, because you can't have a quarterback not taking what is given and making plays.
