RT @WallaceNBAHeat: Heat gave strong consideration to Dampier but MIA's numbers at center (4) and comfort w/roster were determining factors

Starting line up anybody?
PG - Harris
SG - Jackson
SF - Wallace
PF - Thomas
C - Dampier?

Should the Bobcats pursue him if they land Harris?

If you were Dampier, what would you do? I'd probably see if I could go to San Antonio or Utah. You have to believe his phone is going to be ringing off the hook, now that the Heat have passed on him.

Resign here. We did fuck our chances at getting something extra special in this Melo deal by being nice and letting him out. Bring his old dusty (see what I did there?) ass back to Charlotte for the rest of the MLE

Did he ever play with Devin Harris in Dallas?

I wonder if Harris joining the Bobcats would make Charlotte more attractive to Dampier. Charlotte could definitely use a frame like Dampier's to defend some of the other centers in the league.

Yea Harris and Damp were on the Dallas team that played in the Finals I think....

Only if Brezec isn't available correct?

<<I kid....Primoz, the self proclaimed "Slovenian Gangsta", actually owns a house/condo in Miami. He could end up as the ball boy for the Heat.

Milwaukee makes sense actually. He'd play some solid minutes backing up Bogut and be part of a good nucleus of players. I would be for him resigning here though, but I doubt that happens.

Except they just spent a shitload of money on Drew Gooden, and Gooden can't play at the 4 because Ilyasova and Mbah a Moute need minutes. They don't need a guy whining about minutes, since they don't have a veteran locker room.

Does he just not like LB?

He doesn't like taking a $12M paycut. The fact that Miami (he hoped) would offer the Vet minimum was acceptable because of the chance to win a championship.

We actually did him a favor (waiving him) so he could figure out that he isn't worth any where near as much as he thinks. Where would you rather go as a pro (for the same money)?

Milwaukee winters as a backup <<<< Charlotte winters as a starter

Damp

that would easily lock us in the 6th or 7th seed (we want to avoid the 4 & 5 seeds due to 2nd round match-up versus Miami).

Thing is Dampier is no way good enough to even draw a 12 million salary. He should be getting much less. I think his ego got in his way, being cut and then expecting more money than he probably deserves.

Either way, all the best to him. I wouldn't mind him as a bigger body though to throw it at the big centers in this league.
