View Full Version : It's always interesting to see how fans of other teams percieve the Bobcats

I ran across this over at Clutchfans ( a gargantuan Rockets forum thats been around for about 15 years )

http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=193306

In this thread there is some intelligent discussion about how the Bobcats built their team through trades and free agency, but there are an equal number of knuckleheads who consider the Bobcats as awful even though they won 44 games last season and had one of the most dominant defenses in the league.

I guess this shows that it takes more than one good season to really change people's perceptions.

definitley prefer our paint job to theirs. I think its pretty much the sane everywhere they still see us as Gerald wallace plus a bunch of scrubs. However those fans who are NBA fans not just franchise fans are beginning to realise we bring a little bit more to the table

That's great! There's definitely some reasonable folks over there, but a couple of knuckleheads for sure. (By the way, is anyone else unable to see/hear/type the word "kucklehead" without hearing Barkley say it?) I'm willing to bet that we sound like that sometimes, though. Still, when the one guy said that none of our guys would start over anyone on their roster, I busted out laughing. Luckily for him, he quickly checked himself and realized that Gerald would, in fact, start over Shane Battier.

Should change clutchfans.net into facepalmfans.net at all their stupid posters. Seriously, some of their comments are so idiotic, while others seem smart and logical. Massive difference there.

SO epic how a guy thinks Martin>Wallace too. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that.

Perhaps they have incredibly short and selective memories. Oddly, I remember Jax dropping 43 points on Houston in January en route to a win.

That was an awesome game, really shows how dominant Cpt Jack can be on a extremely good night.

I was at that game and he was UNSTOPABLE man no matter who they put on him he killed them and broke 2 records that night his on highest points and set the franchise record as well.( beating wallace record of 42 pts.) I can honestly say that out of the 15 on the rockets roster and their DEFENSEIVE stopper battier(still love ya man Go DUKE) couldnt shut him off, everything he threw up was wet. Those are the nights that make you love being there and just to be a FAN........GO CATS

As well as all that...When people say that Charlotte is an "unattractive place to play" and a "small market" it makes them sound so ignorant. Announcers do it all the time...since when is a metro area of over 2 million in one of the biggest basketball states in the country a "small market"? And since when is Houston an overly attractive place? I mean I guess if your a tex-mex kind of person...

Just because the Bobcats exposure isn't huge doesn't mean it isn't attractive...especially considering the Rockets are just oh so mediocre right now anyways. I laugh at Rockets fans for continuing to trust Yao's health.

The problem is that in 2001 Charlotte was the 37th TV market, in 2006 we were the 27th TV market, and in 2010 we are the 23rd TV market.
Even though Huston has fallen from 8th to 10th they are still a significant diget rounding away from being twice the TV market we are.
So don't get to upset at the announcers, we used to be small and have moved into mid sized.
