Yesterday I had the pleasure of cleaning up peanut butter and jelly sandwich vomit off of the floor, carpet, rugs, walls and shower curtains after my son had a lunch that to put it mildly :airquote:didn't agree with him:airquote:

As a parent, some of the really gross stuff that you see and have to clean up will boggle your mind.

Any other horror stories from other parents here?

I remember those diaper changing days. When you get hit with some really wicked spray diarrhea poop, it kills your appetite for a good 24 hours.

If I wanted to do that I would have thrown in the fact that it costs $230,000 per child to raise them from birth to age 18 ( not counting college )

I would have also thrown in the lack of sleep and the additional stress.

I haven't felt well rested in four years. I look forward to some future date when I presumably will. Maybe this decade?

dnb,

I hate to tell you this, but I have a 10 year old, and an 8 year old and I'm on my 10th year of not feeling well rested. As parents, I don't think we'll get any real rest until they are gone to college or out on their own.

My kids no longer wake me and my wife up during the night, but my sleeping pattern was so damaged over those early years that I can't sleep past 6:15am if I tried.

in case anyone without kids is wondering why your parents got up at the ass crack of dawn just to "not waste the day away" this is why. they set the alarm 45 min before you kids wake up, did it, then ate a peaceful breakfast.

This is an example of why parents have to wake up 45 minutes before the kids
