Tonight the Bobcats face off against Kevin Durant

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w301/bobcatsplanet/durantula-poster-kevin-durant-thund.jpg

Lets hope that the Bobcats put on a better performance than they did last night against the abysmal Cavaliers.

Anybody in the Fayetteville area going to the game?

West and DJ matching up . Its going to be real ugly West scores 30 plus tonight. DJ has to concertrate on assist tonight. And pray for some form of defence.

Let's hope that last night was just jitters and and off night. Because if we cannot handle a deflated Cleveland team, we will get killed by an very good OKC team. Tonight DJ better start playing like a starting PG, or someone is going to breathing down his neck to take that job. Jax, Crash and TT have to help him by making some darn shots, too!

Guess not but anything is better than nothing at this point even if we have to listen to their homers. Can't wait until the league pass kicks on.

Yeah, being from Fayetteville originally, I figured it would be a nice break from classes and drive down for the game tonight - til I found out the cheapest tickets they had started @ $32... That was for a seat in the upper level towards the middle. SMH... It's a pre-season game... I' m not paying $32 for that. Anyway, hope we look better tonight!

We lost, but a much better game than the night before...and against a lot better opponent. Without seeing any statlines it seems DJ and Tyrus both did very well.

Really should have left Miles in Cleveland.

One thing is for sure. We have some ATHLETES on this team.

TT in limited minutes is looking pretty good. DJ is also growing in confidence.
Miles can seriously piss off.
Rogers, 5 rebounds in 5 minutes, though he didn't sink anything. Perhaps we'll see more from him at a later date.
UPS is beasting it.

This is all just looking from the statline though.

DJ AT 10 AND 6 i will take ever game.
TT , and Brown both had good lines TT seems to have steped it up in the preseason.
Nazz , and Rogers with limited time lines seemed decent.
Way to many turn overs from the wings . DJ is going to have to post assist instead of our wings.
Over all much better game,

Whats up with Hendo not playing.

Chef

way too many turnovers. jax 5, collins 5 etc etc. wish we could have signed ray for two years 8 mil a piece.

Hendo's hurt.

The thing that I'm most impressed with DJ is his FG% and turnovers. Only two turnovers thus far and 7 assists, for a 3.5 ratio. That's fantastic. He's at 56% FG and 75% 3PT. Also fantastic. Diop also seemed to have a nice outing. Pulled down a couple of boards, made a couple of shots, had a block. That's all I ask for from you, big fella

Also, Felton had 4 points tonight. Along with 5 turnovers and shot 1-6 from the field.

Play of DJ and Diop is indeed very encouraging. Diop is gonna beast this year if he doesn't get hurt.

Nice insight from Bonnell in 2 different articles/blogs:

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2010/10/some-stray-thoughts-on-thunder-game.html

-- Dominic McGuire had a rough night defensively, committing four fouls in 5 1/2 minutes.

-- I asked a scout from another team who he'd keep between point guards Sherron Collins and Javaris Crittenton. He asked if "none of the above'' was an option. It's true neither was particularly good against the Thunder. They combined for 2-of-10 from the field and eight turnovers. I did press the scout to make a choice and he said Crittenton, narrowly.

Some highlights and lowlights:

Reserve center Gana Diop had missed the previous four days of the preseason for the birth of his son, Jules. Rather than look flat from the layoff, Diop was effective in 20 minutes. His numbers might not have glistened (four points, four rebounds, a block and a steal), but Brown said he guarded the basket in just the way they need him to.

So well, in fact, that Brown yelled out during the game, "Gana, great job, son!'' Usually when Brown is yelling to Diop, it's a very different message.

"With the work I put in this summer, I feel I can play. I played very hard tonight,'' Diop said.
Reserve forward Derrick Brown generated 12 points off four shots from the field, mostly by finishing on the break. He got to the foul line eight times.

Two Bobcats – Stephen Jackson and Sherron Collins – each committed five turnovers and Tyrus Thomas added four.
Forwards Dominic McGuire and Darius Miles each committed four fouls in relatively brief appearances.

I think DJ is in a pickle, if he doesn't get any assits he gets criticised for being a pg who doesnt get assits. However lots of you here on bcp were saying he should just give it to boris or jack and get open shots...

DJ is very good in transition and unless I'm mistaken that's where he racked up those 5 assists in the 2nd half. The proof is out there that we do much better at a faster pace:

NBA Playbook - Charlotte Bobcats Season Preview (http://nbaplaybook.com/2010/10/06/2010-2011-season-preview-charlotte-bobcats/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NBAPlaybook+%28NBA+Playbook%2 9)

The problem is we don't play at a faster pace very often.

Larry Brown was saying that he still thinks they are playing too fast, so we have a roster that excels in transition... but we dont do it?

LB wants nothing but half court sets. We should be running way more.

aside from the fact that we are best suited for a "more free" style, getting in half court sets isn't exactly a good strategy considering dj is the only starter who i would call an outside shooter. why set up in the half court and battle defenses that are daring us to shoot jumpers we can't make?

Don't forget about the pick and rolls with bigs that can't catch. It's a flawed strategy but eventually LB will have his player types in Charlotte then leave and the next coach unless it's Jeff Van Gundy will have to reshape the roster.

One thing I noticed with the box score is this:

Boris Diaw: 20 minutes. 14 points (6-6 on field goals). Oh and the real surprise: NO REBOUNDS!

WTF...Matt Rogers got 5 boards in 6 minutes.
