So this would be our first opportunity to match up against these guys

... But it appears that a plague on hamstrings has been beset on the South Beach area. Wade and James are already hobbling. If I were Chris Bosh, I would watch out.
On a side note, if the video below is any indication, LBJ is really digging South Beach.

This will be our first televised game of the preseason, so those with SportsSouth should be able to enjoy a first hand look at the team.

I want to see DJ duplicate the numbers he put up against Detroit. A strong showing of pts and assists. Not another 9 pt and 2 assist evening. If he duplicates the numbers from the last game, he will start to win over fans to thinking he really can hold down the starting PG role. And I would be very happy with that performance.

Solid performance, especially without Crash. Just wish DJ increased the assists, but a great game for the Cats.

Nice games by Augustin, Brown, Nazr early and Tyrus late. I wish I could have seen a little more from Henderson, but they all in all they looked good out there.

Very pleased with the efforts of everyone tonight. These past two games they seem to be understanding how to play well together. I also think getting that first win Saturday night got a monkey off their backs that let them be a little more confident and loose. I really liked what I saw (especially Matt Carroll knocking down threes...does my old Bobcat heart good to see that.) and look forward to them improving upon this as they go forward.

Holy crap we won.
Hooray!
DJ, if he can keep that scoring line but pick up the assists I will be a very happy man during the season.

That was self-correcting - at least in an exhibition - when James sat out the fourth quarter. The Bobcats outscored the Heat 31-16 in those last 12 minutes, with Derrick Brown scoring 14 of his 18 points.
For the preseason, Brown is shooting 62 percent from the field.
"He's staying focused," said point guard D.J. Augustin (19 points, two assists and one turnover). "He doesn't let coach get to him; he takes (criticism) the right way."

Thought that was an interesting quote by DJ.

Lets talk about this:
Diop 0-3 1-4 1
I thought all 3 of his shots were GOOD shots, one nice little J hook over Z that rattled off the rime three times before falling out. and he made a free throw! Ya baby 25% from the stripe, he must have been working with Jeff Kapel!

I'm very pleased and pleasantly surprised with how Gana looked last night. Much more confidence on both sides of the ball...the boy can actually set a pick and defend on the perimeter!

shouldn't all pro basketball players be able to shoot 60% from the foul line. it is your job. i don't get why this is.

tough for those big guys. try throwing a softball into a miniball hoop from 15 ft away 10 feet high

pay me 7mil and i will shoot 60% at the ring toss at the carnival. at the lockout, stern should require any player not shooting 60% from the line to lose 50% of their pay. i bet their touch from the stripe would come along quickly.

I agree completely with chef. In all sports there should be a certain standard for some things. You're right it is their job. Maybe it can't happen every night, but it should be the set average for people who's job it is to do that. I am a Chef and if I only cooked half a meal, I would be in deep *^%! Its my job to cook the whole meal as it is their job to play their position. As far as the "try and shoot a softball into a minihoop" comment, is ridiculous. Thats like saying "try doin open heart surgery at home". Its not our profession, we shouldn't be able to do that. Just like we shouldn't be able to shoot 60% with a softball because its not our job. And to be honest, that wouldn't even be close to the same thing. These players are much taller than most of us, so shooting a miniball into a ten foot high mini-hoop wouldn't be close to what they are doing. More like shooting a Nerfball into a hoop at 8 feet high. Everyone wants to bash the armchair quarterback, but never look at the logic of what they are saying.
And PS CatNation, if you are in Raliegh and have a friend named Jason in Charlotte, he says Whats-up!
