So the waiving of players has started to begin and i was just wondering if anyone has found any guys who may be useful for our team. We need bigs and Pg's preferably a larger one who can guard a sg (like larry said he loved in the postgame interview after the Hornets match)
for me 2 names came to mind:
1) Remember good old PG kyle weaver who we drafted? all star no.. but he did contribute to the Thunder las year averaging 5.4 points/1.8 assists/2.4 rebounds a game and shot .344 from the three. I personally think we could do a lot worse on the pg market... did i mention he is 6ft 6 inc
2) PG Sundiata Gaines, yes that guy who hit the awsome buzzer beater, still he is basically a rook and is only 6ft 1 but i saw him in summer league and he looked good against us

We should've never dealt Weaver in the first place
Does Weaver play SG for SF? If he's more of a SG I wouldn't mind signing him, Hendo is too much of a question mark for me right now.

I thought Weaver was a PG. Seems pretty LBesque for a 3rd string pg too. Much more so than that fat guy who plays 3rd string pg for us now

He is PG/SG which is... pretty perfect, reckon we get him in personally, i couldnt do any harm with our current pg could it?

Would you rather have him or Derrick Brown? That's the choice...

Wikipedia is not always correct...but this time they have the best summary

q (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NBA_Draft#ref_Note17q) On August 11, 2008, Charlotte (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_Bobcats) acquired New Jersey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey_Nets)'s 2009 second-round draft pick from Oklahoma City in exchange for the draft rights to Kyle Weaver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Weaver).[52] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NBA_Draft#cite_note-51) Previously, Oklahoma City (as Seattle) acquired a 2009 second-round draft pick on July 7, 2006 from New Jersey in exchange for Mikki Moore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikki_Moore).[53] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NBA_Draft#cite_note-52) Charlotte used the 40th pick to draft Derrick Brown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derrick_Brown_(basketball)).

The Wizards waived AMMO. Road to redemption anyone? I kid, but I hope the kid can somehow make it in the NBA. Sure, he could go to Europe or China, and make a living, but he deserves a real shot in the NBA.
but he deserves a real shot in the NBA.
He's only had three...

True, but his time in Charlotte was ended by injury, he didn't have a chance in hell of cracking the Lakers rotation.

His time in Charlotte was ended by him refusing to shoot, not by injury. He was decent before the injury, came back after and absolutely refused to shoot. Trust me, I watched him play under LB, it was like the ball was going to burn him, he couldn't get rid of it quick enough.

Nobody was a bigger Weaver homer than me (if memory serves, me and CK were equally upset with him being moved), so I'd love love love to have him back. Considering the massive ? with Livingston, Collins, and Henderson, I think Kyle would be an ideal addition, especially with the versatility that Larry craves. Dude handles the ball, defends, and has a solid jumper.
As for Ammo, all due respect to ammofan, but teej is right; the guy was gunshy and just miserable as all hell in Charlotte before being sent away. I'd even go so far as to say, he'd rather play foreign ball or retire than return here.

In a quick answer to the general theme of the topic, NO! We are way past picking up other team's scraps. I think you guys are underselling Collins and while I liked the idea of Weaver, Nope. And if anyone brings up that guy with the long hair and the mustache as a legit member of this team.....I'm no good at threats so I'll say that if you do it'll make me disappointed for you and wonder if you have legitimate bad intentions for this team.

In all honesty, Adam played really quite well in the Preseason. He hustled, his defense has improved quite a bit and he has his shot back. I have seen him hit shots in the last few weeks that I haven't seen since the Gonzaga days. HONESTLY, I dont know why they cut him and kept N'Diaye, Seraphin and especially Hudson.
I would be all for bringing back Weaver. He is a very versitile player who can play and defend several positions. I'm not sure why he was not brought back by OKC though. Imagine Weaver out there with the "big 4" that has had so much success in the preseason lately (Wallace, Jack, Diaw and TT). That would be a very big 5 that could switch on everything. Seems like a good fit on the surface to me.
I also agree that Weaver is a mostly known quantity and while he would be decent for us, he will probably only be that, decent for us. Who would we cut to make room for him? Again, Collins probably would be the guy and Collins fills a particular role (3rd PG). Would Weaver be better than Collins for that Role? If not, then who would go? With the roster we have, you have to answer the question of who goes when you argue for adding someone at the same time.

Weaver can play point, he entered the NBA as a PG/SG

We need somebody capable at the point. Weaver's not the answer though. I'm surprised we haven't called Rafer Alston or Josh Boone.

Someone who I'd give a try would be Stanley Robinson. Too bad we didn't have the chance to give him some playing time in camp and preseason.

He's only had three... I would hardly call the Lakers an ideal situation for AmMo. Plus in all actuality the Wizards never really had any intention of keeping AmMo. Unless AmMo looked like Larry Bird in his limited minutes he had no chance of making the Wizards team. Adam Morrison HAS the talent but he in MENTALLY WEAK!!! Ron Artest turned his career around by turning to a psychologist and I believe that AmMo could do the same.

I would love to have Dampier at a reasonable amount.

i would love him aswell, however there are two problems.
1) He wants more than we have got and are willing to give
2) He is wanted by a lot of teams which are much more attractive and more likely to have a chance to compeat for a championship than us.
The sad truth im afraid
