Ok guys, I know tonight wasn't a a reg season game. But damn did we look decent tonight. We had kwame, hendo, livingston and wtf on the DNP list. We had 8 guys score
9+ point. And if we play D like last year and get 8-9 guys in double digit scoring on a given night, we become a hard team to beat.
I am not 100% sold on our PG and Center slots yet, but when livingston ( IF) he gets healthy that could really ramp up our front court. Kwame gives us a few fouls on the tougher teams with big 5's on the roster, so we may be good there as well.
8 pre-season games, with a 0-4 start and we finished after the team started gelling some, DJ gaining some confidence with a 4 game Victory streak. I am trying not to get the hopes up to much since it was preseason, but I really think that we can get livingston healthy and
DJ we may be good to go in the PG slot.
now the issue will be the 5. Is there a trade coming? Im talking early, not around all-star break.

When Stephen Jackson goes 7-11 we are very hard to beat. When he goes 6-18 we are very beatable.
It's not how you start, its how you finish. 4 game win streak going into the regular season, we must have fixed some of our issues. Dallas will be a tough first test, but we seem to step up against better teams. Can't wait until Wednesday.

too bad the second one is more common.
but srs, it's just a preaseason game. Atlanta's starters played about 20minutes and their scrubs are as bad as our own

On a back to back (in preseason!) no less.
That being said, I'd MUCH rather finish off these games with 4 wins vs. 4 losses. The defense seems to be working well and from the one game I've seen it appears we're moving the ball on O.
I'm definitely not as concerned now as I was at the start.

spectre, how come you don't post on rgm anymore? I haven't seen you on the bobcats forum for months now

You mean the Bobcats' board? I post on the trade board a lot.
Eh, just not felt the inclination I guess. We talk about the exact same things here and there's more interaction...many more posters. Besides...there's much less of an agenda on BCP. I'm a fan of the team, not of individual players.
I'll post over there when and if something picks my interest. Right now I'm in the middle of a reclamation project on another board.
not to be debbie downer, but we are in trouble going into the regular season. we have to be playing at our absolute best between crash and jax (hitting jumpers) and TT to even crack the top 8. we need a point guard and center badly. point more important at this point. when diaw has more assits than the pg's combined, we are going to have a rough going come regular season play.

I think we look good. Im fully expecting there to be a trade or two before to long tho......there ALWAYS is with LB as coach

Jordan mentioned in his Q&A that they we should look to expect more continuity this season among the players. He didn't rule out the exceptional trade, but he made it seem like nothing would be happening soon.
(Though, the way this team has gone, that means we should be a part of some trade later today, right?)

we look good to me. Wallace is only gonna get better, as is DJ and Tyrus getting even more minutes. I like our small line

We get into the lane at will. The offence goes through JAX ,When he draws the dubble we have three other guys that can take you off the dribble. With DJ waiting on the weak side for his man to dubble down . Its constant movement . Diaw is taking it to the hole hard along with Wallace , JAX , T Time and Brown . Its the best ive ever seen our offence by far.
Our defence should be the number 1# EASY . We switch everthing, Press the issue constantly, EVERTHING is contested nothing is free. Arms ever where like passing through a maze .
Last night this bunch showed attitude confidence . And played as one unit . I can't even see the the Heat playing better defence than this club played last night . Like Brown said the defence was grate. You just don't hear that word from Brown.

Talks are continuing with Carmelo going to NYC or NJ. Who knows what'll happen there, but I'm certain we'll be involved in something. I'd love to have Lawson come on the team. I think at this point though, I'd rather have a project big or established big rather than a scrap heap Point or secondary point. Maybe Anthony Randolph, Nene, Birdman, etc etc.

I'm really not that concerned about our C situation. Nazr is fine. He's still a pretty decent offensive center. He's old and can't log that many minutes anymore, but he's very efficient. He still hits double figures on a pretty regular basis despite not playing that long. He'll give us 18 quality minutes a night. Diop appears in shape enough to be a solid defensive force and Kwame will add depth when healthy. And with LB's preference to go small our need for a traditional C is somewhat minimized anyway.
My concern is at the back up SG slot. I don't have confidence in either Hendo or Matt. We're kidding ourselves if we think Jack can play 40 mins/game again this year, but there's a significant drop off from Jack to either one of them. We need Flip.

The Hammer looked very good last night on defence. One thing for sure you can't leave him open. It was a short strech he played the point on defence. UPS can all ways come in . Hell with UPS , Wallace , T Time , 3D , Hammer. I would not be at all sceard at all to put on the floor.
T Time is fast as hell . I had no idea he had the kind of handles he has. He all so sees the floor like a guard. He has a compleate game . Im not sceard at all to play with out DJ and JAX off the floor.
Mark thease words this team has 5 guys that can take you to the hole at any time . No other NBA team can put that many athletic guys on the floor at one time. Long and lean . You guys couldn't have seen all the possabilitys i saw last night.
I would like to see a lot of this line up. Crash , 3D , UPS, JAX, T Time..
BTW I don't know what T Time is listed at but hes at least 6.9 ,,,6,10

I want to start the season with what we got right now. 3D not Doris played last night . Hes talking on defence diving for lose balls . He took the ball to the hole and didn't hesitate taking the three ball. He actually looked like a leader on the floor last night.
Hendo , Najira, Carroll and Diop , McGuire , Collins is the only players i would even think about trading right now.
We would have to net either Billups or Nane , for 3D right now..........................

I think we should go with that small lineup and DJ, Jax, crash, diaw and Thomas as the starting 5 on most nights with Diaw as our 5. It seems to be most effective. Can anybody confirm that with some numbers to back up the argument?

We won that one :p
Guys, let's watch two or three games before we judge anything at all. This is a defensive Don Nelson team, so I expect more abnormal lineups and combos than any Bobcat team before, even Sam's messes.

Nah...nothing like that LOL!
They're a good board and smart, very knowledable posters. I've just always been more of a Bobcats' only board fan. I didn't even join RGM until the summer before we traded for Richardson (if I'm remembering correctly)...and I joined then just to propose a trade on the Trade Board.
Nothing against Fats, Walt, Slam or any of those guys.
That dude Fred Williamson though...
:p
I'm with those that want to keep what we got...but I'd be keeping an eye on Hughes and Flip; as someone above said I'm a little worried about the backup SG spot too. PG and C I'm hoping the cards fall right, and I'm more than willing to let that play out.
