It looks like Jack has been fined 50,000 for verbally abusing the refs last night after the game.

Some of you might put the blame last night on the TO's but I truly believe the refs last night were awful. Detroit had no basically no fouls last night, and our starters did not shot a free throw until the 4th quarter. Larry brown hinted at this in his post game conference.... He said somehow we drove to the basket more and they shot more outside shots but the Pistons still greatly out-shot the Bobcats from the line.

I wonder what Jack said, but whatever it was, I support him. Last night's officiating was a complete joke.

Yeah, he knew when he said it is was going to be a fine. But what we need is MJ to speak out against it. Or keep Stern from sucking his dick until Jack is freed.

I didn't watch the game, but the new rules are a joke. I'm not making excuses for Jax, however. It's the player's job to follow the rules and keep his composure. Play with emotion, but do not get fined or cost your team points.

Very well put.

This is the way Jackson explained the reason for that substantial fine: "I walked off the court, upset about the outcome of the game [the Bobcats lost, 97-90]. I guess they had a camera following me all the way to the tunnel, where I wasn't even in sight of the referees, and read my lips. I guess I can't talk to myself. I got fined for talking to myself."

That does seem a bit excessive.

Looks like the NBA just wants to get more money. Refereeing is pathetic. In Australia, AFL has also turned into the NBA, trying to cash in as much money as possible. In the grand final of AFL, it was a draw. Fans had to pay another ticket to watch a rematch of a grand final, instead of them playing into OT. Why? Simply because AFL wants more money. Pathetic really what sporting organisations are turning to to get more revenue.

Reading this morning that the NBA used a lip reader to determine what Jackson said. If this is true they have really gone overboard. Apparently he wasn't even close to the officials when he was "griping". I get frustrated watching guys complain sometimes, but the officiating is really bad anymore.

Yeah, I sure don't like the way Jack conducts himself sometimes on the court but fining him for comments that they used a lip reader for off the court is crazy. I still don't really think this report is true as it just doesn't make sense.

I do understand his frustration though. In watching the game, I saw calls being very one sided towards him and the Bobcats in general. I don't usually gripe about the officiating but in that particular game, it was absolutely horrible.

that is complete bull. the rule is meant to curb on court complaining and showing up the refs, which was getting out of hand. sure right now it is a zero tolerance policy that is resulting in some questionable techs, like getting one after one protest clap as the player is running back on d. the players will get the message and adapt to the rules and by midseason it should be a non-issue. but, how was jax showing up the refs or negatively impacting the game by talking to himself as he is walking into the locker room? if i were jax, i would take this one to an arbitrator. at what point do they start bugging phones and wiring players homes?
