Matt Carroll-DNP CD

This is the second straight game that I have been watching Matt Carroll closely on the bench during the games. Our game against Pacers and also Magic, we are down 3 with the ball and he doesnt even get a chance to play. Man you would have thought he did something bad to Larry or something, but Larry must hate him. In the Magic game, some of the fans around him said some things and Matt just shook his head and gave a half grin about it. He then started talking to his teammates about it. I assume he will be gone when (not if) we make our next trade. he cant be happy just sitting. Last night was bad also, he was the only one who didnt get off the bench during the 1st half. Collins got in before him. what do you guys think? I know Larry doenst like his game because he isnt very athletic, but we were down 3 and really need a shooter.

for whatever LB really doesn't like him. but then again larry must know what he doing. it's not like we haven't won yet.

the worst was the magic game. down 3, 1 sec, inbounding the ball with only 2 3pt shooters on the floor. take out crash, diaw, the center doesn't matter. why not put him on the floor?

My wife has been livid that he has not gotten much playing time. She loved him and keeps asking why such a potent offensive weapon doesn't get ANY minutes..... and I have no answer for her.

I didn't figure he'd get much PT here as LB shipped him out on the first bus outta town already. I'm surprised he's getting none though. Matt's probably the worst defensive player on the team, so I'm sure that's playing into it...but you have to think even LB could see use for a gunner every once in a blue moon.

He's pretty much exactly the opposite of what LB considers the preferred type of player for the NBA. LB's in control of the ship, so it is what it is.

Tease his D if you want, point out that hes our token white guy if you must, but don't disrespect the mans ability to rain down points with his sweet jump shot. Something most people would look for on a team that is only averaging 89 points a game!
LBs D game style is great but sooner of later we have to put it in the hoop.

All off-season we were complaining about Hendo's lack of PT... now it's Carroll. There's only 48 minutes to distribute at the 2 people...

Henderson can play defense, and has potential. Matt Carroll cant play defense, and has 0 potential.

I wasnt saying we should play him a lot, but in 2 games we were down by 3 with less than 10 seconds and he still just sat on the bench. if we dont use him in those situations, when will we? I think we had Derrick Brown in the Indy game and Im not sure who was in at the Magic game.

Is there a rule against having Matt up in the Lowe's Practice court staying warm, knocking down 184 Ft's in a row, shooting some 3's, etc....He could get to the floor in about 20 seconds for late game situations. Either to receive fouls if we are up so he can knock down some FT's or to shoot 3's to cut into a lead.

Thats kind of what I am saying. Mat should get 5 minutes a game, that last minute of the 1 and 3 and a minute and a half at the end of the 2 and 4 ;)

He should be able to cover a guy like Gary Neal. We let the spurs turn that game into a shooting contest and there jump shooters where better then ours. When the other team has a great shooter in we need to leave his man out of the defensive rotation anyway.

A bunch of athletic guys are good, except when you are shooting jumpers instead of taking it to the hole. Somebody has to spread the floor to make it easy for guys to take it to the hole. I still think we should trade Carroll and replace him with Chris Lofton though. He is a better shooter and has more range, is way more clutch, and one of the best at shooting with a hand in his face.

I would like to see Matt get some minutes. Jackson is a turn over machine to start this year. Henderson and Matt minutes should go up if Capt. Jack cant get his ship back on course...He needs to find that foutine of youth quick
