GW's elbow was hyperextended in the final minute of game versus the Bucks. How does this impact the Cats offense? Defense? and his trade value? our playoff changes?

G. Wallace injury update: Hyper-extended left elbow, x-ray taken at arena was negative. Feeling started to come back after ice treatment.

here are some exerpts on the recovery time for this type of injury:

Therapy for Hyperextended Elbow Injury

<LI id=jsArticleStep1 sizset="56" sizcache="11">After the worst of the pain has faded, the next stage of treatment for a hyperextended elbow can begin. Your doctor can show you simple therapy to increase the range of motion you can get from your elbow without feeling pain. You can begin with gentle range-of-motion exercises in your arm. After successfully completing those exercises, you can begin doing resistance training using weights to build the strength in the muscles around your elbow. Time Frame of Healing for Hyperextended Elbow Injury

<LI id=jsArticleStep1>The simplest form of treatment for a hyperextended elbow is simply to give the joint time to heal. If you have a very mild injury, then you will not need a sling or therapy. The damage should be healed in a few days and you can resume your usual activities with no lasting ill effects. More severe injuries will heal in three weeks to a month.

He could be back by Wed. or not until Christmas.

And it should help, at least if Dom starts.

I would guess the shorter length..GW bounces back pretty quick to treatment as long as their isn't breaks or punctures.

Maybe he should rest it for a game or two and let Dominic McGuire to start the game and play.

Agreed why not at this stage of the season with our record...

Maybe he should rest it for a game or two and let Dominic McGuire to start the game and play. If this is the case, let the intrigue begin on GW's future here, right? If he proves a reasonable replacement for Crash over the course of a few games, the idea has to be at least pondered by the FO I'd think, and coupled with the turmoil, it could be a distinct possibility. It kills me, but I think Crash has finally hit the wall (figuratively) and his production will only continue to decrease. I hope I'm wrong, but it's looking that way.

PS. Way to hold out a month before your first 1st quarter ejection, Jack. Didn't think you'd make it past week two.

Bad loss. Didn't watch the game, but Cpt Jack being ejected, a loss, GW doing his elbow. Tough stuff happening. Most likely McGuire would start, or UPS?

let's hold off on the dom talk. he posted near career high in points and career high in rebounds. very flukey game. plus he was playing against an atrocious bucks lineup.

Wallace Day-to-Day with Elbow Contusion

November 28, 2010

Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace will be listed as day-to-day after suffering a left elbow contusion in Saturday's game at Milwaukee, it was concluded after ice treatment, electric stimulation and active range of motion work today at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Wallace landed directly on the left elbow as he hit the floor on a drive to the basket, which was initially described as a hyper-extension. X-rays taken after the game last night came back negative.

Yeah, that's very true, but he wasn't taking tough shots or getting 50/50 balls, he was just hustling. That's what I don't get about Crash, his whole game is predicated on hustle, and his athleticism makes him one of the best hustle players in the NBA. But he's not a finesse player at all, just like Dom, only difference is Dom doesn't try to be one.

just based on personal experience, it only takes 1 coach to start messing with your game and get you thinking instead of playing. when that happens it can really mess up your game big time. if LB has tried to "fix" crash's game it could be trouble. some players were meant to go balls to the wall even if it means a shorter than normal career.

The good news for the Charlotte Bobcats Monday: Forward Gerald Wallace's bruised left elbow was well enough that he practiced free throws and thinks there's a good chance he'll play Wednesday in New Orleans.

They need to hurry up and trade this guy. Injury prone. Inconsistent. His trade value is plummeting.
