Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets come to Bobcats arena tonight with a 13-6 record and riding a 7 game winning streak.

The Bobcats on the other hand are 7-12, barely escaped the Nets in overtime, got rolled by a sorry Sixers team and have team captains sniping at the starting PG in the press.

Can anyone tell me why they think that this will be a Bobcats win tonight?

Bobcats' win?

:hysterical:

To top it off Karl is going for his 1000th win tonight...so I think we're pretty much doomed.

It will be interesting to see how we look after "the article" and our "best practice ever" yesterday. Maybe we'll surprise?

Keys to the game:
Denver have 2 intimidating guys down in the post in the Birdman and Nene. Need DJ to step up as it'll be hard to slash to the basket with both of them patrolling the paint. Rebounds will be key also, as Melo is averaging 8 rebounds per game.

Key match up will be Crash on Melo and DJ on Billups.
Also need to stop JR smith.

I looked up Billups' stats earlier on a semi unrelated topic on another board and I was amazed at his offensive dropoff this season. DJ is either right at or above him in all the offensive categories...but one thing did jump out; Opponents' PER:

DJ - 15.8
Billups - 13.9 (stellar)

Billups' numbers are actually much better as an SG offensively, but his defensive numbers get really bad.

As poorly as we have looked the last couple games, even tho we won the Nets game, this is exactly the type of game where we play above our ability and end up winning by a comfortable double digit margin. Then all the talk on the Threads are how we are turning it around. Then we play a crappy team the next game where we all think we should dominate and we play like High Schoolers and get beat soundly. It is like a vicious circle. So, we will win by a large comfortable margin...or we get cremated.

I know I'll probably get torched for saying this, and I normally wouldn't, but I feel I need to say it here amongst friends to illustrate how bad things are: I could really care less what happens. The fact I have the time, and now the health to go back to a game for the first time since the PHX game but just don't want to says volumes. I may switch over and watch some of the game but only for morbid curiosity, not because I give a damn.

I'm pretty sure I'm still a Bobcats fan, I just really don't like the the players (DJ, Boris, Nazr excepted) and find them hard to root for and a win tonight isn't going to change that. Bobcats basketball used to be fun if a tad frustrating, win or lose, now it's just boring.

Man I didn't realize you were feeling poorly...hope everything's ok now.

As for the rest, you certainly have the position here to say whatever the hell you want so far as I'm concerned...for what that's worth (which probably ain't much LOL!).

So what's more likely on ESPN tonight:

Headline George Karl gets his 1,000th win

or

Cat fight breaks out at halftime and only 6 Charlotte Players return to the bench for the 2nd half.

And yeah, it's not worth much, but I appreciate the support nonetheless, my dear spectre! :p

Holy shit.

I had mine taken out many many years ago and I still remember the pain. Having it ruptured...holy shit.

You now have my upmost sympathy and support bud. Very glad to have you back.

Hang in there Beagle. Sending good thoughts your way. Oh yeah, DJ heard you were feeling poorly, so he wanted to kick a little butt for you tonight to let you know he was thinking about you, too! :-)

It is obvious due to how beasty his beard was, his appendix couldn't take it. Thus, his appendix blew from beagle's beard's pure awesomeness.
