The hypothetical war thread

This is a spinoff of the "What would happen if the entire world declared war on the U.S. (http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/vb/showthread.php?11775-If-the-entire-rest-of-the-world-declared-war-on-the-U.S.-How-long-would-we-last)" Thread.

I had a random thought today, What would happen if China declared war on India? Lets use the premise that nukes are only being used as a last resort.

Who would the U.S. side with? We are asshole-deep in debt to China, but a disturbingly large portion of the United States' technology is in the hands of India. Both countries have bazillions of people.

My thoughts are that China would win, but would it be a tough, long drawn out battle, or would it be a quick and easy beatdown?

I think I mentioned this in the US vs world thread but my friends had an argument about the same thing. Chinese guy said China because they had the people's army, as well as a billion+ people. Plus Chinese work hard and can produce masses of cheaply produced weapons, ammunition etc. Indian friend said India would win because they had elephants.

Honestly, if I were the US I would side with India. If you're massloads in debt with China, wipe out China and that debt is gone. Logical no?

I'm with Toocool, having China go down and extinguishing that debt would help. However, we wouldn't have any new video games, consoles, TVs, or smart phones for a decade or so.

Maybe Jimmy Carter becomes the ultimate peacemaker, taking his peanut farming skillset and swaying the herd of elephants.

Here is my next hypothetical war: Mexico -vs- Canada

They declare war on each other, but there is one small problem... The U.S. is literally stuck in the middle. What would happen in that situation?

Mexico has drugs , guns and beach resorts. Canada has Maple Syrup, hockey and the Raptors :g:

Who wins?

I want to go back to China -vs- India. And point out 3 things.
1) India has a lot of our business China has our Debt. We want our future income to succeed not our past debt ;)
2) Japan and Tiwan both hate china and we do massive business with both of them.
3) North Korea could easily become collateral damage.

In the end no country likes china that much so if they got into a protracted land war with India then Japan, Russia and Taiwan might take some cheep shots at them. So china could never go full boar on the western front. I think India wins in the end with a WIN being defined as still being an intact country. With possibly taking over Nepal. Of course lets be honest no one wants Chinas two western provinces, Xinjiang (the Taklamakan Desert) or Tibet (The roof of the world).
