TooCool,
Those graphics were almost as amazing as another early favorite of mine:
Atari 2600 - Defender

The system that came out in my formative years was the 64. We all know how revolutionary it was, and I never could play only one game. I cycled through like 10 different games and it's impossible to name just one that got me hooked.
1. Super Mario 64
2. Mario Kart 64
3. Diddy Kong Racing
4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
5. Donkey Kong 64
6. Mario Party 64
7. Goldeneye 007
8. Mario Golf
9. Wrestlemania 2000
10. Banjo-Kazooie
Back when you could hit someone so hard the ambulance came onto the field...

The song also echoes my feelings on the new hitting rules: "So put on a skirt if you come on the field and don't wanna get hurt!"
Epic horsecollar at :23
And that Randy Moss catch at :48 is epic.

It's tough to say, as I honestly can't remember the first video game I played. I know I played this a good bit and even watched my dad play quite a bit in the arcade.
Others that contributed:
Centipede, Pac Man Moon Patrol, Missile Defense, Combat, Super Mario Brothers, Karate Champ, Double Dragon, and Arkanoid.
I remember waiting in line at the skating rink to get a chance to play Double Dragon. That was a whole new level.

I didn't even think to add handheld games. I'd like to add Pokemon RBY to my list from above lol. I was a Nintendo whore.

No telling how many quarters I bummed off mom and dad at the arcade to play this one as a tyke. Can't even describe how much fun this was to play as a kid especially when I beat it the first time: was high-fiving kids I didn't know and everything!!! Sound FX and music are still awesome to this day....need to port this to XBLA like they just did with the XMen arcade game.
