Would like to figure out where he gets this idea from and if it is true. One of LB's desires, maybe?

THAT'S BULLSHIT.
Rip refuses come off the bench for Ben Gordan in Detroit and he definitely won't do it for Jack. This trade would kill us and Rip has a horrible contract. I'd be fucking FURIOUS if this went through. That's just horrible decision making. I don't give a shit how good he played for LB. I just have so much anger towards this team right now hearing something like this really pisses me off.
it is what he said in a chat yesterday to poster asking who would be willing to take rip. it is garbage not news. no way we take rip now unless detroit wants to take diop, carroll, najera and someone like hendo and they won't. rip isn't getting us anywhere special and isn't an expiring. after last night, i don't know how mj gives larry any input on trades. he has publicly given up on this team and is challenging mj to get him better players. mj is nobody's bitch.

^ And I think that has become the problem. MJ, and LB have proven not to be able to work together. Their personalities are too strong and LB has too little energy anymore. I think it's time to quick giving into what LB wants and send his ass into retirement. The positives no longer outweigh the negatives at this point. I'm sort of over the whole "Hall of Fame Coach" thing...just because he was good doesn't mean he is good. He's putting no effort into the team and making bad decisions.

Exactly the type of predictable move that (I'm afraid) we'll make.

If they gave us Hamilton and Stuckey for DJ, Diop and Jax, I would consider it. Oh well, the trade did not show up in the post. But it was a +4 in wins by the Trade Machine.

12+ million a year for Rip Hamilton? im good. he isnt that good anymore, would be just another sidestep. and what would the point be? We'd pay 12 million dollars and Larry would play McGuire anyway.

If we can get a serious upgrade at PG with Stuckey, and get rid of Diop's contract and the not so sane Jax, I would accept Rip's contract. it would not be the worst move we could make, for sure. And it eliminates the need to worry about a PG in the next draft.

Stuckey is only good to us if Larry Brown isnt here. If Larry is here, you can forget Stuckey being any kind of good. He will tear him down. Berate him on the bench even after good plays and basically reduce him to DJ and Feltons ability while under their respective Larry Brown imprisonments.
You want to get better? Larry has to go first.

Chef, please let me take a moment to remove my head from my butt............OK, thank you. I completely forgot about the Malice at the Palace stuff and his role in it. I think you are right. Dont think Detroit will allow Jax back there for any stay other than as a member of the visiting team. I cannot believe that completely slipped my mind.

Unless we are trading Wallace, dumping a bench player in the process, and/or getting a draft pick of some sort in return I do not want Rip.
Something like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2usykbv

Would only be somewhat decent if we got Greg Monroe out of it, and got rid of Diop, Carroll and Nareja

I would take Rip if thay added in Stuckey in. But if we take Rip , JAX has to be gone all so in another deal.
Boris and DJ for Stuckey and RIP
JAX for Add the best return .
Wallace for decent youth picks decent return.
Stuckey, Rip, TT, Walace, By its self should change attitudes in the locker room. JAX is the one that has to go.

How about Diaw, Diop, & Najera for Rip & Maxiell. Get rid of two unnecessary players for us and add two productive bench players (I would think that Rip would come off the bench for LB). Detroit does it b/c they get rid of Rip's contract and Maxiell has been losing pt anyway.

they would choose to just hang on to rip with that shit sandwhich coming in. if they are entertaining those types of offers, there are better crappy offers to take.

Just realized...per ShamSports Rips' last year is unguaranteed. He could conceivably be a Dampier 2.0 after next season.
Not that I want him, but IMO that'd mean we probably won't be saving any money if we do make a trade for him (not like the lollipop would have anyway).

Thats not that bad of a contract . I think he fits well hear If we could move JAX. Do you think him and JAX could coexist. Rip and a first for Wallace and fillers. Wallace is two years Rip just one . Its not great but Wallace might not net much more.

I almost threw up in my mouth. We absolutely cannot trade for Rip. Espn would be probably move us even lower than our current dead last spot in the "future rankings" list. Some of the trades mentioned are OK if we dump a TON of salary, but we won't do that. We'll take the shit end of the deal like we do in every other trade. Kind of like when we became the 1st team in league history to take on more salary in a salary dump (Chandler trade). I still don't understand why we didn't keep him and do a more useful trade. Sit down and re-think that trade...it still blows my mind.

Yup. Can't you just imagine what Chandler would have brought at the deadline with the way he's been playing?
We're just destined to screw up.

Joe Dumars on 97.1: I hope we're close to making a deal (http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/12/joe_dumars_on_971_i_hope_were.html)
Dery asked Dumars if he was close to making a deal.
"I don't know," Dumars said.
But Dumars gave fans a reason to remain hopeful.
"Two conversations I had with teams today, they say that might work for us," Dumars explained. "So you know, am I close? I hope so."

I don't want any deals where we are receiving players that are past their prime and/or overpaid.
That damn sure strikes Rip off of my wishlist

With the last year of Rip's contract not guaranteed, that makes it more palatable for me as long as we get a Stuckey, Daye or Maxiell along with him.

The Pistons have some good young players.
If we can trade Wallace or Jackson to get Rip (so he starts/gets to feel like he has a chance to prove he is worth the money/reunited with LB and MJ) plus pry away a couple of their younger players I would be happy. Might be the kick in the ass this group needs.

.
who? Monroe is a prospect and does not look that good. Stuckey is another average comboguard, and the others suck. Still, the Pistons will definitely not part ways with them if we add our trash (Diop, Carroll,...) to this trade.
Damn, I hate this franchise so much right now

Need to stay away from Hamilton and his contract. Hes overpaid and is not as good as Jack anyways....The thing that frustrates me the most is if we could get away from Larry Brown and his constant demanding of trades this team could grow. Imagine how much better we would be with Tyson Chandler, even if Raymond did leave...Everyone talked about how valuable Dampiers contract was? It just kept us out of the luxury tax, but has killed our chances on the court.
Give me this lineup and I guarantee we are close to a .500 team, we have lost so many close games:
DJ
Jack
Gerald
Tyrus
Chandler
