Splitting off a few of the trade topics from the "jumbo" trade thread.

Spectre, you are hilarious.

Add me to the "Do Want" contingency on making a deal that will land us Devin Harris. He is in his prime, his contract isn't an outright sin, and he has good size for the PG position.

Agreed, if we have to give up Boris along with DJ so be it. Harris is a good PG.

Harris is a good PG.

One thing Baron isn't.

Let's hope that the Melo trade to the Nets happens because they'll need to jettison Harris.

Harris is so good? How many all star games has he made? ZERO. He's a good PG yes, I would love to have him, but I think Baron would do just fine on a new team too. I think either one of these trades work in our favor.

He's actually made the ASG.................. In 2009

And nobody is saying he's "so good", just that he's much, much better than Baron

It's funny how easy it is to forget how good players are when they are stuck on perennial bottom feeder teams. I think Baron has some gas in the tank left, but I have no idea how B Davis would fit in our team. If everyone is trying to "blow it up", acquiring Davis does not make sense. Having said, getting a younger Devin Harris would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

Everyone on the internet is talking about blwoing it up.....I dont think MJ wants to blow it up yet.

Baron/Jack/Gerald/Boris/Nazr is better because its got alot more experience. Throw in Boris for Kaman and we have a really legit lineup.

I didn't realize he was a reserve in 2009, so touche' there.

career #'s for Devin -
fg's 3pts ft
M APct M APct MAPct OffDefTot AstTOStlBlkPFPPG
4.49.944.5 0.62.030.2 3.84.780.3 0.42.12.5 4.82.21.20.22.513.2
career #'s for Baron -
fg's 3pts ft
M APct M APct MAPct OffDefTot AstTOStlBlkPFPPG
6.014.740.9 1.65.131.8 2.94.270.8 0.93.03.9 7.32.81.90.42.916.6

So Devin can hit better Free Throws, and shoot better %, he is lower on assists, rebounds, steals, pts pg, etc. How is he better??

We aren't talking about entire careers here, that's what you aren't understanding. Baron has had a fantastic career, but hasn't done a thing since leaving Golden State. If were going by careers why don't we trade for McGrady and bring
Iverson over?

I'm concerned about what they can do NOW. Not 5 years ago. Would I take Hornets or even Warriors Baron over Harris? Yes. Would I take Clippers Baron over Harris? No.

You won't find any rational person who thinks Baron is better than Harris now. You just won't. Because it's not true.

Tell me exactly what Devin Harris has done that is so great please? Or even what warrents him being a better PG than Baron? Baron is in a bad situation, I really believe once he is out of it, he will be fine. He's 31, he's got 3-5 good years left at least.

He's cheaper
He's skinnier
He's younger
He scores more points
He gets more assists
He's a better defender
Etc
Etc

There's a reason why no one wants Baron and I think he'll still be a Clipper unless we trade for him because our FO is the only one dumb enough to do it. Wait for the Melo trade and see if we can get Harris on the cheap and if not, Baron isnt going any where.

Out of Harris and Baron I'd definitely prefer Harris. The only thing with Harris is that he is frail and is injured a lot.

Davis doesn't fit the mold of what the Bobcats want to do going forward (young players or draft picks) Harris does (but not entirely because he's injury prone). Larry is the coach that was pushing for veterans over youth and Paul and Larry are polar opposites.

Besides...Silas mentioned today after practice, he wants to figure out what the players are capable of before any trades happen.
