Who is the best point guard for us to acquire right now, assuming guys like Paul are NOT an option.

a. Baron Davis ($42M/ 3years)
b. Andre Miller (7.2M/1 with a team option for 7.8/1)
c. Devin Harris (27M/3)
d. ?
e. Stick with what we have.

I'll make this a poll later when other options have been explored.

Remember: attainable!

Depends on what we'd give up. Diop, Carroll, DJ for Baron and DeAndre Jordan is better than Crash for Miller, but Diop and Crash for Miller and Camby is better than the first. So who knows.

Of all of them, giving equal value, I'd go with D and pray we get a good PG in the draft.

Does anyone think Billups might be in this category?

Im going to go with Devin Harris, but only because Davis and Miller arent very attractive options. Even though my gut tells me that Devin Harris has reached his peak, he should still be a solid starter for a while. I know he is still young, but for some reason I just dont see him getting to that next level.

Also, bring the hate if you'd like, but in the new system Silas is going to put in place, Calderon is a nice fit. Just saying!

I think we keep DJ, even if we bring in Harris or *choke* Davis. Billups would be even more awesome to teach DJ for a year or two. Bottom line he has the potential to be a starting pg, even an excellent starting point...but he needs a helping hand to get there, and larry doesn't do that. Under the faster more modern system he'll shine bright, as will most of our players except for the centers and diaw (well that's questionable i guess). Also, if Silas gets Muggsy as an assistant I see DJ stepping it up A LOT!

Andre Miller's expiring is looking mighty fine right now.

As much as I like Harris, I think Miller is who I prefer for now, IF we are going to make a move.

Probably Harris. I'm not interested in a disinterested, unhealthy Baron Davis. A change of scenery will not change his attitude.

It seems to me that you give D.J. a chance in the new system before you make a change. Why would you rush to give away a young player - who likes to run, who's usually your best perimeter shooter on the floor and who's probably better suited to the system you want to run than the one he's been running - for a thirty something with several times the contract?

Couldnt agree more. His production really isnt that bad, and he is a bargain right now for what he is getting paid. The only way you deal DJ out is if you can dump Diops contract and not take on any long term money (which is why I like the idea of the Portland deal).

Unless he improves defensively under Silas more time isn't going to change my mind a lot. Not to say that he can't...but he's really been atrocious lately staying with his guy in half court sets.

That being said I definitely don't want to give him away like in that Clip trade rumor.

I would doubt it, he is their best option at point guard, and Arenas looks happy coming off the bench for now.

He's happy for now but if they decide they need to move him I'd love a DJ/Diop for Jameer. Its not going to happen and it leaves us very thing at the 5 but fuck it, let's tank this bitch anyway
