I felt that this monumental event was worthy of its own thread
What were you doing when this historical event happened?

I was on the couch wayching on one of Spectre's feeds (I credit him with all feeds). The shot was pretty smooth. I was pretty sure it was Gana when we received the ball, but had do do a triple-take when that shot went up and in so effortlessly. I almost choked on Christmas leftovers.

It was around 9 A.M and I was in my chair. I was watching, very disappointed at his first fadeaway jumper which missed. Then he took it from like 15 feet out and swish. I was like 'OHHHHHH' and jumped out of my chair, almost breaking my laptop from how fast I rose to my feet.

You realise he hit 2! I was watching the game at 2am, then out of nowhere comes this fade away jumper from Diop. To be fair Gana was balling last night
I was sneaking glances of the box score from my phone when suddenly my phone exploded with text messages and ESPN notices reading, "Gana Diop hit a jumpshot!"
Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't the top headline on ESPN.com last night.

Tease him all you want but he ran the floor defending a 3 on 1 break and PUNKED them. It was a good night for the big man.

I was the guy standing in section 206 yelling "NOOOOOOO!" and then ate my words when it hit nothin' but net! Not a bad game for Diop -- still bad for his contract -- but you've got to believe they are going to showcase him more for a trade. More nights like that from him and I won't be complaining!

he deserves a little tease for his previous play here... but dammit if you aren't right about him playing his ass off last night. If a guy gives me the effort he gave last night, he would make it awful hard to make fun of him. That jumper was nothing but the bottom of the cup too. pretty smooth, like Charlie V's face.

My wife was sleeping on the couch beside me, so internally I screamed real loud while externally I gave him a fist pump.

He was AMAZING in the Detroit preseason game. I actually pretty high hopes for him for this season (6-7-2), but those quickly disappeared. Hopefully, this is a sign of more things to come.

I was sitting beside GoBobs in Sec 231 and told him....Gana is now only 8 points away from his career high in points. And...he should never shoot that shot as poor as his free-throw shooting is.
Gana did have a great Defensive game, he was hustling, making the most out of his minutes.

Defense is nothing new for Diop. He might be the new shot blocking zombie if he gets more playing time. But those jumpers he hit...all net by the way...WOW. I was talking on my phone and when I saw that i dropped my phone literally in shock

When he gets in that mode we should call him Dat J's Gana Diop.

I was sitting in a chair which i almost fell out of from laughing so hard.
After he hit that shot I knew we were going to win the game.

Not only that but the second basket came during a dry spell where Detroit was making a serious push to get back in the game.
One of his blocks was just filthy too. He ran the floor from half court and busted up a three on one break, it was totally sick.

I was wondering who the F*CK Dominic Mcguire was when I saw that. Then I crapped my pants.

It's possible you and Gana will be the only two humans on earth with that jersey.
Now you can be in charge of reproducing this video (with Charlotte gear) as his biggest Bobcat Fan
The lyrics make even more sense if you realize his last name is pronounced "jop", not "D-op" as ESPN sometimes mentions:

When it went in, 3 thoughts simultaneously pooped into my head. 1.WTF 2. That's not ever happening again and 3. He actually made it look like it was supposed to go in. LMAO.

I've got a white one from the old uni's, does that count?

It would be pretty cool if Desagana Diop was a good player. He has one of the best names in the NBA.
