Can I make a statement, lexi is ballin and LB never gave him a chance. Could this have been all LB or am I exagerating. Watching him play and play well for the mavs pisses me off!

Um, he's 0-2 from three, his +/- is -14, and has as many fouls as rebounds...

At what exactly? He has made it into four games this season for a reason.

Like Diop or Kwame would ever see significant minutes for any other team.

Dallas is crazy deep at center. Contract Year Chandler, Haywood, Mahi, and Jinx. If they can find excuses to play him as a team while still making a push a homecourt, then surely we could've found a spot for him. Larry Brown, etc.

it's easy to be "ballin" when your playing on a top 5 team in the league

it's like Shannon Brown on the Lakers
or Trevor Ariza on the Lakers......when they won everybody was going gaga about Trevor, and the next year in Houston he goes back to shooting 39% from the field

Playing on an elite team where you have set responsibilities makes a big difference and hides player liabilitiies.....like all Shannon Brown has to in LA is run as fast as he can and make a dunk, every shot he takes he's wide open

Okay, so what exactly has Ajinca done better in four games with Dallas?

If Lexy is ballin, DeAndre Jordan must be MVP. A guy i was targeting in the draft???

What exactly have Kwame and Diop done other than be a goon?

I'd rather have a young goon than an over the hill, neverwas.

He sucked way before Larry Brown was in the picture.

The concept of this thread is just so amazingly stupid, I had to come out of my cave to comment on it. Alexis is a scrub and just because he scores 7 points for one of the most stacked teams in the NBA nothing about him has changed. He was a waste of a draft pick and part of a stupid trade we made.

No I do not miss him. He will go back to France soon enough and buy fine wine and cheese with the millions of dollars we wasted on him.

"ballin" was a very light term that I used to describe Lexi actually having some type of contribution to a team. Compared to what we got back and how we completely dropped the ball on that trade i would much rather have Lexi here under a new coach with some potential and youth than have najera and carroll. That was my point behind this thread, not to glorify the guy. So please cease with the hating.

Where we really screwed up with Lexy was his development. We had him gain a bunch of upper body weight and then complained that he was less active. Lexy needs to focus on his lower body and his endurance to be an effective player. He also needs to change some of his playing habits but that will only be possible if he improves his motor.

It wasn't something that was designed by the team to have him gain it all in his upper body.

Yeah, Lexy never did what the coaches or FO wanted.

They wanted him to rebound and play D first. They wanted him to develop a conventional post game with back to the basket moves from what I could tell. Lexy will never be great at holding his position because he will always be thin and have a high center of gravity. He has a beautiful jump hook, but you just bump him a little down low and make it look clean up top and he will be so off balance he will miss by a foot.

Lexy should have been a spot up jump shooter on offense and put in a zone on D. A good coach should find a way to maximize the strengths of his players after wanting them in the draft. Instead we concentrated on what he couldn't do right and got rid of him. Every time Lexy played extended time he did something to impress. He was tearing up the D league last year. He played well in summer league even Simmons commented on how good he looked after saying he was a bust. Yet we got frustrated that he was still doing some of the same things that frustrated us when he first got here, mostly standing around and watching when a shot goes up rather then working for good rebounding position.

another reason to blame larry brown, what'd we give up to get him? last year's first?

Yezzir. 2010 #1 for Dallas' #4 center.

We only need to trade future firsts if we're getting a legit superstar back; otherwise, there are lifeline (since we're a small market team).

Lexy has managed to ball his way up to Toronto!

Ajinca, meanwhile, will be dealt to the Raptors along with a 2013 second-round pick that Toronto had sent to Dallas in last year's draft in exchange for the rights to rookie center Solomon Alabi and cash considerations. In return, Dallas will receive the rights to 2007 second-round pick Georgios Printezis (who plays in Spain and is no longer considered an NBA prospect) and create a salary-cap exception equal to Ajinca's $1.5 million salary.

Some solace in losing the '10 pick: there doesn't appear to be any player would have picked with that pick that would be making a huge difference now. I might still take the gamble on trading the pick, but maybe grab one of the other bigs available.

players i would have taken (at the time) based on our needs (a big): ryan anderson, koufus, ibaka, dj white, deandre jordan

players i would have taken above him at the 2010 draft based on need guard or center: eric bledsoe, james anderson, dominique jones, grevias vasquez, daniel orton or package diop and the pick for a trade.
