View Full Version : WTF-Season Ticket prices for 2011-12 season
So i just logged into my account online and saw that I have a new invoice for next season. My tickets INCREASED over 20%. I just left a message for my ticket rep. I have been a season ticket holder since Day 1 and I will not be renewing with this. how can they increase our prices and the team continues to play bad?
has anyone else heard about this or seen the new pricing?

I just checked mine. The are same price as the current season and it has Feb 18, 2011 as the due date. I've been in the same seats for the last 5 years.
Just curious, were your seats part of the buy one/get one free that they used last year?

No increase over here. Was grandfathered in on a promotion they did a few seasons ago and probably have the lowest season ticket price in the arena ($220/seat)
My prices have stayed the same for the past couple of years, but this is a big increase. i sit in section 117.
Werent they going to reduce most of the prices? Isn't that what Flavil said in the letter he sent out?

How much more can they really reduce ticket prices? My own season ticket prices aside, going to a Bobcats game is very affordable (at least for the ticket price) compared to other pro teams. Comparing the cheapest tickets available, its more expensive to go to a Checkers game. By my experience between box office and scalpers, you can get upper levels tickets for $5-10/ticket and lower level for $25-35/ticket. Thats pretty fair IMHO. Sure, you're not going to be able to take your family of 9 to sit courtside, but good luck trying to do it in any other market cheaper.
What I (realistically) would like to see is a new tier of budget menu items for the concession stands. Slider burgers, bag of pretzels (or similar smaller food options in the $2-4 range) and budget beers ie PBR/High Life on draft ($6-7 instead of the current $7.75). I've seen that at many other stadiums/arenas and it drives up sales volume for cost-conscious fans.

Just checked, and my price stayed the same. I'm in section 109, similar to 117.

Before I became a STH I always bought those $5 tix in packages from a dude on ebay. Very cool they grandfathered them. They went up to $10 when I signed up, but still, that's a great bargain to me, especially with the view and angle.
I'll wait 'til I get something in the mail to see about pricing, but I'm like teej, I thought seats were going to be reduced overall as per the letter/email I got. Let us know what your rep says, bfer.

I just logged in and mine are ~18% higher than this current season (section 225). I can't say I'm necessarily happy about it. I'd be interested to see if they could cut me a deal somewhere else in the arena.

I think the problem with the vendors is they all sort of do there own thing. There should be plenty of profit in a 5 dollar beer. Vendors charging as much 9 dollars a beer is just predatory. The organization should regulate overall prices to shield there customers from having a bad experience at the games. If food and drinks are reasonable you will develop a culture of spending at the Arena and make a lot of money. If you make stuff to much people will eat and drink before they get there.

My seats went up from $50 to $55. Not so bad, but I have a friend who was going to upgrade from his section and with the new pricing that is going to be an extra $15 per 43 games. I think that is a huge jump for him and dont think he's too happy about that. The one free 24oz beer a game will be awesome though. Over all I am not too pissed but we should not be rasing prices for a team playing bad.
Does anyone remember a few years back after a crappy year under Sam Vincent the team raised prices and had more than a few fans upset...
They are going to continue to lose STH. why would people renew when the product isnt that great, but yet they increase prices. It really pisses me off about it. I have been a STH since day 1 and will not be renewing. You cant increase the prices and not give something in return. the food/beverage credit is crap. i want seats to stay the same. they increased it in 5 of 7 lower level seats. ridicolous. i know MJ wants to make money, but a smart business plan would be to get people in the stands and not alienate them.
"Hey, here is a worse product and we are obviously trying to trim payroll more, lets go ahead and hike up the prices for our most loyal fans who pay thousands of dollars to the team"

Looks about right to me... All upper level prices decrease. Those $25 lower seats this season are usually $30 so they're just going back to normal prices. Relatively, Bobcats tickets are the best value around.

I was pleasantly thrilled to find in my renewal envelope that my seats are being reduced by ~25% (upper corner). That's a huge help for this physically unable to work, thusly finanially strapped chap. Plus a 10 month pay-off period. I hate that the rest of you guys seemingly got screwed by the renewal thing, but the Cats did good by me.

They're giving a credit of "up to" $10 per seat per game at certain concession stands next season. I checked with my rep and my credit is $10, though the way he answered it gave me the impression that the credit is $10 for everyone. Just seems weird that the renewal notice says "up to" $10. In any event, I think that's an awesome deal...I can get a free snack and drink every game. Works for me.
