Pardon my noobishness, but I thought this might be an interesting idea. In this thread I ask that people describe, or show (Via pics or video) their favorite and absolute LEAST favorite Bobcats moments. Hilarity ensues.... Now.

Let's not!

I have a question for you. I have no problem with you being gay, but why did you chose to make it known as the defining characteristic of your username? Im not bothered by it, I am just wondering why that particular part of your life was so important that you decided to make it who we identify you as. I didnt call myself TheStraightKid when I registered because I didnt think it mattered either way.

I think because being gay and a sports fan is kind of different...
maybe thats the reason for the name... its kind of funny/cool he posts here now.
although one would have to assume... if gay he has a crush on one of the bobcats...??

my favorite moment was sitting about two rows near court at a clippers game in LA with my father seeing the bobcats rally to a win in LB's first year with about 10 other bobcats fans was pretty amazing....

And i think last season i believe The first bucks game we lost put us on like a 5 or 6 game loseing streak and i got really depressed and started screaming at the girl i was with because i thought she looked down on me because the team i spend so much time ranting and raving about was terrible (just had that feeling again when we lost to the wiz)

Its just a name. I thought it was funny and in todays climate I'm happy to see he's proud enough of who he is to broadcast it. Kids kill themselves over this shit, more and more every year, its fucking sad it has to come to that. There is some random clown on Panthers Huddle with the name David Duke (picture included). I think i'd rather be gay then David Duke....He's a faggot

Dude! You were at the infamous "Dunk the goddamm ball, Meka" game?!?!? When the mic caught Larry screaming that to Mek's face at timeout, that catapulted this game to the Bobcats HOF.

My favorite moment writ large was the 5 game homestand sweep last season that started with a walk-off tip in by GW, ended with an historic slaughter of Miami, with beatdowns of the Spurs and Suns (and a closer than needed to be win over SAC) in between; you could just feel this was a playoff team.

Least favorite? Many of them, so I'll just take the most recent: the no-show in Memphis last month. Even during the Sammy year, I was still proud to be a Cats fan; after that game, I was embarrassed and started to despise the players.

Oh, and leave TheGayKid alone; he's a fellow Davidson County resident; we take care of our own here, regardless of race, creed, sex, religion........errr, okay actually in Davidson County if you're not a straight WASP you're screwed, especially in Pig City (at least it's not Denton, though, right?)

Just because someones name is that gay kid doesn't mean they are a homosexual. Gay can have several different meanings. I use it all the time to describe horridly contrived tv programs like dancing with the stars. Maybe he just has a flamboyant personality. Diaw's personality could be described as flamboyant but I am pretty sure he likes magic muffin because I heard he owns a strip club or what ever and there were some pics of him with some ho's on the internet form when he was with the suns. Riding a Segway around is still gay though.

There have been a lot of great moments. A few of my favorites:

Sean May blocks Lebron on the last play to preserve a win and stands over him

Sean May hits a three to win a game at the buzzer from the top of the key

Gana Diop misses freethrow by a mile, everyone cheers for him and he swishes the second

Mek has 10 blocks

Beating the Lakers several times

Playing very high scoring games with the suns where Felton was near a triple double and MC scored a ton of points

Getting down by like 40 to the Pistons and roaring back with Ryan Hollins and Alexis Ajinca playing C and PF only to lose by like 2 pts at the end when the Pistons were forced to put there starters back in

Several great games from Wallace once he had like 40 something on the knicks

Looking like the best team in the NBA for about two weeks last year

First game with Tyrus Thomas and Ratlif having a block party

All the games I have been to in person in which the team is 3-0 when I am in the building

Fave moment, meeting the entire team after getting into the arena 2-1/2 hours before the doors opened. DJ autographed my tattoo, but my wife said I couldn't go to the tattoo place and get it permanent ;)

Least Fave Moment - Felton missing the inbound, Allen for 3 - GAME... such a hard fought game, and we HAD IT if we didn't bumble the inbound. I do believe it was December year of the fine ham biscuit :)

Hello (yes there's a long time I've not post here but I'm always reading the forum).
This thread is intresting, because I realized that I can remember most of moments you talked about ^^

My favorite moment was the win after 2 overtimes at LA against the Lakers in 2009. I remember that I was crazy and excited of the end of this game and I woke all my family (here it was about 6 or 7 A.M. just before they had to wake up to go to work... ^^) when I said "YEEEEEEEEESSS" too loud at the end of the second OT. (I'm sorry if my english isn't good)

Least favorite moment : each time I wake up before going to work and I see Bobcat's lost during the night... hope it will not be the case tomorrow. Don't really bring energy before a long working day ^^
Ok I remember a moment I was quite sad, when I learned Shannon Brown was traded. At this period I didn't really know why I was sad about that, but now I know why I always loved this player.

I am 4-0 over the last 5 years. Never seen a loss in person. Was at the Cats/Memphis buzzer beater last year as well as the block party against the Cavs. Going to the Hornets on Saturday, going for 5 straight.

Love this thread. Kat, RSX, TheGayKid, I laughed my ass off.

My favorite moment is probably when we came back last year to beat the Hornets and clinch the first playoff spot. My favorite game would be the Laker game in LA in the 08-09 season where Crash got hurt but Boris kept us alive. Favorite play is probably Jack's swish 3 over the Bucks to win that game, and my favorite non-game related Bobcats moment is when MJ bought the team.

But, alas, no Bobcats list is complete without the worst. My least favorite moment is the end if the playoff series with Orlando. Least favorite game would be any Celtic game in Larry's time here, least favorite play would be the Lee tip in, and least favorite non-game moment is probably when I totally accepted Ray was gone.

Honorable Mention to all other Laker games, Dj beating up Rose in 08, Paul Silas' smile, J-Rich, locking Sam out, Larry being hired, the infamous LB-isms, Crash being an all star, and Jack.

Dishonorable Mention to Sam Vincent, Jeff McInnis, Tyson Chandelier, Emeka not being a man, Larry being a douche this year, and Alexis Ajinca.

Riding a Segway around is still gay though.Truth be known Gay means happy. Some homosexual male decided that the word Gay described all homosexual males and it made the rounds. In reality according to the meaning of the word a straight male could be Gay or like the Flinstones having a Gay old time when they are bumpin a muffin. That is why it drives me nuts that homosexual males had to take a word our grandparents used to desribe their emotions and make it a homosexual term. I don't know what word they could have used but people hear the word Gay and have no idea of it's Websters Dictionary meaning. One can not use the word any longer. There are songs that use the word Gay and they are not describing Homosexual males. I have a few words that could be used but in this politically correct nation we live in they would be offensive to most homosexual males.

Sorry this got off topic...back to the topic at hand.

I think everyone's favorite/least favorite team moments are going to overlap one another, so I give you a rambling story of one my favorite unique experiences as a Bobcats fan.

2004 - Opening games for the franchise at the Coliseum.
I was at both the preseason and regular season openers, both against the Wizards. For the preseason game I sat in one of the luxury boxes -- still the only time I've done that.
The more memorable experience of the two was the regular season opening night. I was a sophomore in college at the time so a few friends and I are sitting literally in the nosebleeds against the wall. A buddy texts after the 1st quarter that theres open seats by him in his section a few rows from the court. We proceed to move down only to find ourselves 2 rows behind the Natureboy himself, Ric Flair. For the rest of the game one of the guys I was with would stand and do the "Woooo!" every few minutes -- so much so to the point that by the end of the game he had lost his voice and it sounded more like "The Natureboy, Ric Flair! WHOAAAAA!" I think he finally acknowledged us somewhere in the 4th quarter.

I still crack up when I think about that.....

Also, at the end of the game, correctly assuming that empty seats for the home opener would remain open seats for most of the season, I called out the usher by name, put my arm around him and told him to look for me at future games, and continued to sit in his section without any problems that year. Not too shabby for a kid going to school and making $75/week at the time.

I've got plenty more, maybe I will put them up later if time permits.

OK. I've got another quick one.
Kevin Burleson, aka K-Burl, aka Nate Burleson's far less talented brother.

I remember being at a game in K-Burl's lone year (05-06, ugh... such a trash year) where I'm going to guess either due to injury or foul trouble Burleson was getting extended minutes and playing surprisingly, for him at least, good first half ball. (EDITORS NOTE: I checked his lone season stats and he scored in double digits just once, so I don't know what exactly what he was doing, but it was something good)

Anyway, as the team runs off at halftime I'm yelling some hype at Burleson about his play and he just runs at full speed and jumps up high to swat my hand. It was hilarious how excited and pumped he was. But at the same time, I've always remembered that moment of just how awesome it would be to play in the NBA. After all, that was just a rookie kid, playing to cheering fans, and living in the dream.

But that said, God did he suck!

Favorite: Gerald Wallace buzzer beater over the Grizz last year..was at the game I haven't been to a game where the crowd has gone more crazy. That's when the team was really playing at it's best under LB.
