And dont you know this absolutely KILLS Larry Brown seeing how this team is playing under the leadership of another Coach. Sorry sack of crap.

How does it seem that this team always plays its best ball in January and February? Just sayin.

MICHAEL JORDAN deserves some serious props for having the stones to make the coaching change he did when he did. I think that Silas coming in is like Mary Poppins coming in and freeing up the guys, as he has the free open system in comparison to LB's slower restrictive system. It's kind of the best of both worlds as the guys have the defensive principles that they may have gotten from the LB tenure, but the offensive freedom to excel there. It happened when the Pistons got Flip Saunders initially. It's happened with Raymond Felton in NY. I think LB had served his purpose at the end of last year and that Silas is the perfect change of pace allowing MJ to play with house money.
I think he gets crap for the screwups, but deserves props for this move.

Maybe, but what he SHOULD have done was let him go in the offseason...then maybe we wouldn't be in the hole that we're in now. Larry Brown is NOT the guy you want when you're doing what MJ did. No doubt LB told him that, but he obviously ignored it.
I agree it took some stones to fire LB, but the stretch from the offseason til then is all on the Lollipop IMO.

BTW...long known as the resident "DJ hater"...I have always thought he could do what he's (mostly) been doing but I had doubts that he had the mentality to succeed by doing it night in/night out. I still have doubts, but if DJ can play like he did vs. Chicago & Rose consistently then he'll have exceeded all my dubious expectations.
Jax...he's "killing" it right now, but I expect him to do what he's done throughout his career; balance all the good play out with big patches of "Bad Jack".

Maybe. Point is the offseason is long done. He could have pulled a Jerry Richardson and just let it play out, save his money and pick up a top pick once we got finished tanking thing. That's the thing about conditionals. I think there was certainly some ego involved as MJ was saying, "LB your input has led me to buy 90% of these groceries, now you need to get in the kitchen and make my dinner." Now, it may have backfired in the short-term, but it also kept Jordan from simply just bending over and caving to all of LB's demands, showing himself to be strong, but not overly prideful as he cut ties in reasonable time. Furthermore, he could have simply promoted someone from within the staff, but he picked the perfect guy to step in. He deserves credit for that. I think the timing was also right in that it was against teams we could build are confidence again and the team including DJ and Jack have responded accordingly.
What I like with DJ is him being assertive with the offense. I think that for the team to excel, he has to do that and have previously said as such. And by being assertive, it means more than just shooting. It means RUNNING the offense as he has. It means taking the ball and making plays vs. pitching it and waiting for it to come back on a kickout and basically being a spot up shooter. When he is assertive running the offense, it reduces the amount of time Jack spends trying to be point forward, which has some highlights, but certainly has another side that can be detrimental. I think Jackson is best COMPLETING plays while being an occasional playmaker in a secondary form. When DJ is assertive running the offense, it allows there to be more of this and there to be more good Jack than bad Jack.

Spec had no Idea you we're a hater but I guess I should have known because 85% of the people on here are when it comes to DJ. I'm sure all it will take is a couple of bad games and ya'll will be back knocking him again. You are asking for 22/12/1 turnover every night? That's the measuring stick? Quite lofty expectations.

I said I've been known as a hater. Not the same, at least from my POV.
I'm not talking about the numbers but about his PLAY. He created shots for his mates. He was aggressive in looking for offensive opportunities (for both himself and others) and on defense. He drove the ball. What I've always disliked about DJ was his seeming lack of ability to assert himself. He did that in spades vs. Chicago the other night.
If he goes back to being a passenger vs the guy driving the cart then hell yeah...I'll definitely be wanting a replacement. I understand your perspective as you came in being in DJ's corner (and I don't blame you at all for that)...but the team itself is what I'm most concerned about.

Your point has merit...just saying it should never have come to that.
I have no idea what Hanners and the rest made...but would it shock anyone if we found out that Silas is actually making less than him?
I wouldn't be.
A player's coach absolutely was the best choice for the players post LB and Silas was perfect. It also didn't hurt that he'd been begging for the job for what...3 years now?
Let me take a step back...I've forgotten who we're talking about here. Jordan deserves huge credit for bringing Silas in. We should all be damn thankful he didn't hire his favorite golf caddy to take the reins instead.
