Darrell Armstrong would be a great candidate to be the next coach of the Bobcats. He's currently an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks. He's a former NBA point guard, most notably with the Magic. He brings high energy, passion and high basketball IQ to any team he's involved with. Also, he's from Gastonia. He went to Ashbrook High and Fayetteville State University.
What do you guys think?

I've had my fill of former Dallas assistant coaches.

IDK....I would like Van gundy but I doubt ESPN lets him go.
MJ will never, ever hire Van Gundy.

This guy might be worth taking on chance on... Michael Cooper became an assistant coach of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks in 1999, and helped the team reach the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, with a record of 20-12.
He was named the Sparks' head coach in November 1999, and the Sparks' record quickly improved, as they finished 28-4 in their 2000 campaign. Cooper was named the WNBA Coach of the Year for his efforts. The Sparks followed with consecutive WNBA Championships in 2001 and 2002, but were denied a third straight WNBA title by losing to the Detroit Shock in 2003.
After the Sacramento Monarchs ended the Sparks' run in the first round of the 2004 WNBA Playoffs, Cooper took a job as an assistant coach under Jeff Bzdelik with the Denver Nuggets. After 24 games, Bzedlik was fired, and Cooper was named the Nuggets' interim head coach.[8] He remained interim head coach until George Karl was brought in to coach the team about a month later and served as a scout for the Nuggets the remainder of the season.
Cooper was the head coach for The Albuquerque Thunderbirds for two years (2006–2007). In 2007, Cooper left the Thunderbirds after coaching them to the National Basketball Association Development League Championship in 2006. Cooper has since returned to coaching in the WNBA as the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks.
In May 2009, Cooper was named the head coach for the University of Southern California's Women of Troy Basketball Team.[1]
This guy is for sure worth looking at and I can guarantee that our Bobcats would be a lot tougher...In the middle of the 2002 WNBA season, Bill Laimbeer took over the head coaching position for the Detroit Shock. A year later, he led the franchise to its first WNBA championship and was named Coach of the Year that year. It marked the first time in WNBA history that a team other than Los Angeles or Houston won the title. On September 9, 2006 Laimbeer led the Shock to their second WNBA championship against the Sacramento Monarchs in five games. Two years later, on October 5, 2008, Laimbeer led the team to its third league championship in six years by defeating San Antonio.

I realize these men had success coaching women but they were quite good contributing members of their championship teams and to me if a man can get women to perform at a high level he can get men to do the same.

I believe Darrell Armstrong will make a good NFL coach. He is a players coach, and would likely focus on defense. My only concern would be that he would be so hyper he'd hop on the court mid-game to try and steal the ball.

How do you think he would do in the NHL?

+1. add me to that list. Maybe get that assistant coach from Utah a lot of people have been talking about.
I wouldn't mind the idea of Bill Lambier. I'm not 100% convinced that he would be the guy but he is certainly worth consideration.
I'm not sure though that I would want any of these mentioned guys ahead of Paul Silas. I know he may not be the "coach of the future" but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to go into next season with him at all.

Its Stephen Silas and I would think that they will just keep Paul for the coach.

Not with MJ as an owner...watch this Youtube as just a small glimpse of the hate between the Pistons and Bulls back in the day when you are to earn a Flagrant foul and Technical foul.

I remember those days well. If you notice though, Rodman was the one in the video that hammered Jordan and they played just fine together just a few years later. Jordan and Thomas may have some ongoing bad blood but I don't think the Bulls/Pistons history would prevent Lambier from getting the job if Jordan thought he was the right guy.

Rodman's role with the Bulls (Crazy bodyguard under the influence of Jackson's Zenspeak) is different than being the leader of your multiple million dollar franchise. Besides, you want your Head Coach to be supremely confident in his/her decisions, there is plenty of footage available of Lambier being embarassed by Jordan...I just don't see it happening.

I just don't see how Jordan and Lambier going at it 20 years ago would make him not confident in his decisions or make Jordan not want him to run his franchise. If anything, Jordan knows just how competitive Lambier and he probably has a lot of respect for Detroit since that was one of the main franchises Jordan had to get through on his rise to the top.
Again, I'm not arguing for Lambier but I don't think he would be blackballed by Jordan because of his time in Detroit.
i would be more concerned that oakley would beat him to death as soon as he entered the arena for his interview just out of instinct.
Several "good" possibilities IMO but I think MJ has to make a decision on the "type" of team he wants...and I'm in no position to guess since (again IMO) he gives no appearance of knowing, or if he does, disclosing that info...but I was somewhat surprised he did not let LB go after last year and try to hire Collins...that's who I thought he'd go after but again...not sure he really knows what he wants (other than "Ws") out of the team yet...

Last time I saw Dennis Rodman he was on Celebrity Rehab.
And I'm not sure about bad ass Billy Lam but I do remember his video game

I've revisited my write-up on Coaches and although I like the motivation that Paul has brought to the team I'm thinking more long term...there were two guys in my research process that I liked and I still think either would be a good long term fit...
Chris Finch or Elston Turner...I'd be fine with Paul for another season or two but after that most of our long term contracts end and I'd rather see one of the guys given a chance as we go through a "rebuild" type process...

I want Paul to stay or for Stephen to take over.
Keep Paul through next season, then let Stephen do the rebuild with Oak as the lead assistant.

I honestly don't care who next head coach is. They could bring Biscuit back for all I care.....just keep Oak and I'm a happy boy.
