Orlando has released veteran PG Jason Williams. I think he was upset that he wasn't getting any playing time in Orlando. Should we sign him?

Orlando has released veteran PG Jason Williams. I think he was upset that he wasn't getting any playing time in Orlando. Should we sign him?Where is he going to get playing time on our team? Our two current playing pg's are more than enough in my opinion. Besides Jason Williams is far from the guy who earned the nicname "White Chocolate" and is not an improvement over any of our PG's except Sherron Collins. I don't think he adds much to what we have already.

No. If we sign anyone, it needs to be a big.

If he wasn't happy as 3rd string in ORLANDO of all places why the hell would he want that job here? I dunno if he is even an upgrade over Sherron at this point

First off, the Bobcats are already at 15 guys on the roster which means it's full. Unless we waive someone, we can't add anyone. Williams would be marginally better than Collins but wouldn't he have to be paid much more because of the vet-min? And all for a third-string pg? D.J. and Livingston are a pretty good starter-backup combo, no need to change that. However, I don't even know if the Bobcats would waive Sherron even for a big. They'd have to be VERY confident in Livingston's health.

I actually like the idea of picking him up, precisely because of Livingston's questionable knee. I've not been overly impressed with Collins, and if Shaun's knee swells up one day and he has to miss 3 or 4 games in the thick of the playoff race, do we really feel comfortable with Collins getting those back up minutes? I know I don't. I would feel comfortable plugging a 12-year vet who's played in big games in there though. It also wouldn't hurt to have another shooter on the roster. Provided we haven't already guaranteed Collins' deal for this year, I'd happily waive Collins and sign J-Will.

Demon...Collins (and I could not believe it at the time) is guaranteed so we'd have to buy him out or do a 2/1 trade with another team to free a spot...

I have been pretty happy with the way Livingston has been playing. Because of the nature of his previous injury, it will always be a concern but I haven't seen anything to think it will be a problem going forward.

Ultimately, barring an injury, Williams would be a downgrade from DJ or Livingston.

Wow, I'm equally in disbelief that we guaranteed Sherron. Not sure why we would have done that. But nevertheless, he's on the rookie minimum which is what, less than 1/2 mil. The buyout wouldn't be much. From a basketball standpoint I still like the move. I guess it just depends on how tight MJ is with the purse strings.

It was guaranteed while Larry was still coach, and 462k isn't much. plus Sherron seems to be great teammate and J-Will was complaining about playing time.

He will end up with a contender.

I shall answer with a quote from an article about his behavioral problems and overall stupidity about matters: The player said the fan, Michael Ching, called him a ``skinhead'' and ``racist,'' charges Ching denied. According to the Sacramento Bee, the third-year point guard allegedly responded with the following: "Are you a fag?" "Are you gay?" "Do you remember the Vietnam War? I'll kill y'all just like that." Williams then pretended to be aiming a rifle and emitting a "rat-a-tat-tat" sound, according to witnesses. "Just like Pearl Harbor," he is said to have added.
