I would never have guessed this:

According to Henry Abbott, Felton is the 17th best clutch shooter who has at least 30 shooting attempts when the game is either tied, down by 1, or down by 2. He's 12/36 for a 33%. The rest of the league combines for 29.7%.

I remember looking at the stats at some point last year and he was second in the league behind Kobe in the number of game winning shots.

Again, never would have guessed that!

Personally, I think clutch has way more to do with the last shot or the last minute of a game. How many times have you seen Kobe just take over a 4th quarter? Kobe has some type of killer instinct when it comes to winning that I feel few players have (Bill Simmons talks some about this in his book too). Also, there's a real good chance many of those near the top were left uncontested in the end (and I know the article essentially argues that Kobe should pass the ball more). If my choices are an unguarded Glenn Robinson and a possibly double-teamed Kobe Bryant, I'm still choosing Kobe.

I agree with you but if you are to ever compare players in any capacity as far as clutch goes, you have to have some sort of measurable difference. I think they count the last two minutes of the 4th quarter with the score within 5 points (or something like that). Game winning, buzzer beaters are easy enough to measure--but extending it to two minutes at the end of the game gives them a bigger, more definable range of evidence

He was never afraid to take them. If you look at 82games.com you'll see that Tyrus is one of the leagues most clutch players. He's near the top in a lot of clutch stat categorys
