ESPN has Bucher reporting that Artest may be headed this way. Can't get the details to load. Any other details?

OK. Apparently, Bobcats FO have gotten word on Artest's interest in playing here, which is little, and have said there is little chance of this happening.
It would be for Wallace or Jackson. I can't really figure out how that trade would help us.
They capped the radio show by saying that Artest "wasn't crazy" about playing for Charlotte.
Which would be the ONLY time he wasn't crazy!!!!!!!!!!! [rimshot.]

Yep.
1. When I posted this, I thought there was more to it than there was.
2. I'll be honest, the trade discussion thread drives me bananas and I rarely read it.
My fault.

How would you have us fix it? (serious question)

It probably doesn't need to be fixed. For the people who participate in it, it seems work well.
I just don't like the many different random "what if" scenarios. I'd rather just see trades that are actually being discussed by real gms.
Plus, I'm crotchety and old, so things just drive me bananas.

Artest & Jackson reunion? HELL YEAH. Losing Wallace? No thanks!

what if we created two threads. 1 for fake trades etc and 1 for only real trades that are more than just rumors ie likely to happen past the first stage of talks

That would be more valuable to me, but I don't think you're going to stop people from suggesting tweaked trades, which is a slippery slope to fantasy land.
Unless there are more people that would appreciate seeing these two types of threads, I'd probably just keep it the way it is.

We could do that idea and if somebody posts in the wrong thread Ziggy can bitch slap them to the correct thread.. LOL :)

I don't know if a post has ever more completely and accurately captured my feelings on a given topic as this one. I'm not a huge fan of the mega-trade thread either. I too would prefer to only read about realistic possibilities, and the real-life Artest scenario is a great illustration of what's problematic about the one colossal thread. Although dmb got scolded for starting a new thread, this thread is the only reason I even know about the Artest thing. The trade thread is just overwhelming. Even when I went there to try to find details about it, it's buried so many pages back I just gave up. It's easier to just go to espn than wade through 40+ pages of posts.
I'm all for the one thread for the wannabe GMs and one for actual confirmed trades rumors idea. In fact, I thought it had already been stated a while back that that's what we were doing. I'd strongly recommend re-visiting that format.
dnb...rumor had it...and it still seems to have some traction...that the Lakers want Jack...but honestly...I'd say no to Ron and I really can't see that as a help for us...only the Lakers...so I doubt anything comes of it unless the Lakers add more than Ron-Ron...

I'm not interested in helping the Lakers whatsoever. Not one bit. The NBA already rubs me the wrong way as it is because small market teams have zero chance to compete. The Lakers have made questionable decisions when it comes to piecing a team together and they should have to deal with their shortcomings and mistakes. If Carmelo ends up with the Lakers I will never watch another NBA game ever again. I'm still pissed that Memphis pretty much gifted them Pau Gasol. They have a bored Gasol, an antsy Artest, Derek Fisher's corpse, an injury prone Bynum, and a declining Kobe. Deal with it.

I love the idea of a thread with fantasy trades and a thread with real rumors.

I agree. 1 huge long trade thread = Boo
It should go:
Bobcats Talk
Trades
Game Threads

I have to agree with the majority here... The mega-trade thread irks me. Too many "here's my scenario... *poster proceeds to post a 5 team deal that will never happen*"
I can't stand it.
I don't know how many times I've posted a REAL trade rumor in one of those threads and it gets eaten up and disappears with about 4 more of those "fantasy, never gonna happen" trade posts.

Already covered in the Trade Discussion thread.
That thread is a black hole that most of us would rather not be here then read.
I would like to see 3 threads:
1- Actual news like the Artest trade that media outlets are covering, sure it might not happen but front office people have talked about it - No new trades posted with out a link to the news site reporting on it
2- Proposed trades that work through the trade machine (but are still just in the posters head not MJs) - Must have a trade machine link
3- "How could we make this happen" like the poster that wants us to get Wafer from the Celtics - free for all.

From all of the Jack hateing i have read here it seams that just getting them to take Jack off our hands might be worth quite a bit in and off its self. He is a bit to toxic for me...

I'm not much for "Toxic-out-Toxic-in"...which if we did a Jack for Ron trade is exactly (IMO) what we'd be doing...
I think Jack might end up with LAL but it's going to involve a third team since I get a clear feeling the organization does not want to bring Artest here...
