Bobcats trade: Stephen Jackson, Boris Diaw (http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1091864&p=26791001#), Matt Carroll, Gana Diop
Bobcats get: Vince Carter, Antawn Jamison
Suns trade: Vince Carter
Suns get: Boris Diaw, Gana Diop, Anthony Parker (http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1091864&p=26791001#)
Cavs trade: Antawn Jamison, Anthony Parker
Cavs get: Stephen Jackson (http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1091864&p=26791001#), Matt Carroll
Why for the Cavs: Jackson is a little bit younger then Jamison. He probably has a few more years before he declines as a player and Jackson is under contract for a few more years so they don't have to worry about him leaving for greener pastures. If they Cavs draft a nice rookie having Jackson around could help them be competitive sooner rather then later. Matt Carroll has a bad contract but it is small enough that it doesn't hurt the Cavs salary situation.
Why for the Suns: The Suns are only a few games (http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1091864&p=26791001#) out of a playoff spot. Nash only has a few years left. Boris Diaw has had some success in their system before and this shakeup might get them over the hump. Anthony Parker fills a need at the two. Diop is the cost of the deal for the Suns but they are still well under the tax and under the cap for next year.
Why for the Bobcats: Jamison and Carter together give them a little more reliable scoring punch then the combo of Jackson and Diaw because Diaw can't be counted on for a certain number of points. The Bobcats are also on the edge of making the playoffs and this could put them over the top.
I posted this on real gm in the trade thread also. What do you guys think of this deal? Clears a ton of cap room for us by the summer of Dwight.
