No doubt the young man has had difficulties adjusting to life as part of a team, but he's also playing on a team with virtually no veteran leadership. He's averaging 14 and 8 (as a rookie) and could play center against most teams. So I ask, would you want to add him?

i would trade anything on our team and draft picks for him. he is a stud and will be an all star someday. but he is untouchable for anything less than a current superstar.
amp...I just don't see the Kings moving him...the Maloofs like him too much...I think we'll see a coaching change with the Kings before they ever consider moving Cousins...
I also agree that I don't think we really have anything the Kings want other than DJ...and I'm pretty sure if they moved Cousins they'd get better offers...
But, to answer your question, I'd like to have him...I think we have enough veteran players that he would not be that big of a distraction here...

I would absolutely be interested, are there some rumors that he may be on the move?

With the fact they did not let him fly back with the team, there must be some serious issues with the team and Cousins. I would dearly love for him to be in a Bobcat uniform. I think MJ and Oakley would help steer him right, as well as some of the team leaders - although I dont know if Jax is the kind to keep him "cool headed".
DO NOT WANT. He's Rasheed, just dumber.

How could you not want a young big guy who has TONS of potential? I mean, the kid is 20 years old... put him in a lockerroom with some veterans and I think he will learn his place. He's having a pretty good rookie season on a dreadful team and if they dont want him, then Im sure MJ and the Cats front office would LOVE to have him.
I love Paul Westphal, but I guarantee the first time he acted out with Paul Silas AND The Oak in the room, it would probably be his last.

I agree with coach...can you imagine him acting up with Paul and Oak...love to be a "fly on the wall" if that every happened...ROFLMAO...
But seriously...the Maloofs love the kid so I doubt he's moved...just IMO I've heard nothing either way other than the dame "blow-up" with Green that everyone else knows...but moving him...I seriously doubt it...

I would love to have him but not sure it would work with Tyrus Thomas and Stephen Jackson. I would trade DJ for him in a heartbeat but don't see it in the Kings plans.

The Maloofs will just add a padded room on their team Jet with a lock on the outside of the room. He's a headcase, I don't think we would have the opportunity to have him on the team, but it interesting to watch him waste potential in the coming years. A cross between Chris Wasburn, Randy Moss and Dennis Rodman.

We have some crazy players, but I don't think any of them have started a fight with a teammate because they didn't take the last shot. I'd take him, but I wouldn't give "anything on the roster plus draft picks".
They can have Diaw or Nazr or something, that's it.

hadn't heard of the dante green incident until last night. yeah he is "volatile" to say the least. i still think i would consider moving crash or jax in a deal for him, but not plus draft picks. i would like the cats to take a risk on a guy like him. he could be the first franchise type guy we have ever had and could lead to really good things, but on the other hand he could be a prison sentence waiting to happen.
how about crash, dj for cousins and beno

I said early in the thread I doubted we had any one (player) they'd take straight up...and some other team(s) would probably be more than willing to over-pay if they decide to trade him...but I seriously doubt the Maloofs make him available this year...of course I could be absolutely wrong as we speak and the Kings are all set to take Rufus for Cousins straight-up...LOL
I'm constantly on the fence about Beno...but feel that Crash and DJ is slightly too much...maybe with a pick coming back...even a Kings second would have value...

He has all the talent in the world to be a franchise player, but I'd be way more comfortable if he directed his craziness towards the other players and not his team a la Rodman. Until he does that, I wouldn't overpay because he has just as high a chance of burning out and I'd hate to be the team to make that mistake.
I don't think I'd consider Crash/DJ for DeMarcus and Beno, but I might look at Crash (or Jack) for him straight up.
SWedd...if there is one guy that is the epitome of "high risk high reward" it would be Cousins in my book...I'd do a straight-up also...but the last couple of years the only interest I've ever heard concerning the Kings (and our players) is DJ...would you do a DJ for Cousins straight-up...and yes I know the big for small so if they'd do something more like DJ plus Nazzy...
Steve Kyler (Hoopsworld) just posted this today regarding Cousins...
DeMarcus And The Kings: The fact Kings' rookie DeMarcus Cousins got into a pushing and shoving match with teammate Donte Greene is not a surprise. It was almost inevitable.
Cousins is an amazing athlete and player; his problems are maturity and temper related and these were issues both well documented and debated throughout the draft process.
From a pure talent stand point, Cousins is off-the-charts good, but from a mental and professional standpoint he is off-the-charts bad. The Kings knew this when they drafted him and hoped they could endure the growing pains of a young and immature player to reap the benefits of the talent Cousins clearly possess.
As the Kings debate their next course of action with Cousins after sending him home, they have made it clear to inquiring teams seeing an opportunity when the news of the scuffle broke this weekend. The Kings are telling teams they are not trading Cousins, but it's becoming clear that "Boogie" isn't fitting in with his teammates and the problems are bound to get worse before they get better.
Sources near the situation say Cousins has had words with Kings' guard Tyreke Evans on more than a few occasions and has become almost belligerent in his demands for the ball offensively. Cousins often pouts when things do not go his way and his teammates have had enough of it.
Cousins' run-ins with head coach Paul Westphal have been well documented, so the fact he's acting out at teammates is not a surprise.
The Kings knew DeMarcus had issues when they drafted him. They simply hoped he'd grow up as the season progressed. It seems from the outside looking in, he hasn't.
The Kings profess they will not trade Cousins, but if he and Evans can't get along how that works over the long-term remains to be seen.

didn't realize it was that bad with him. he is the classic head case young player. he needs to be on a veteran team. look at big baby and rondo on boston. they were head cases who could have had very different careers had they not lucked out and got to learn how to be pro's from kg, pierce and allen. i think he is the same way and is a disaster on the young kings team.

Sorry, suppose I should've provided more context with the Evans incident included in my OP. As we all know, it's a guards league now and I can't see the Kings choosing Cousins over Reke.
If they were going to move Cousins, I could certainly see a situation where you have to take Francisco Garcia with him, or perhaps Beno if they got a PG back. Was really just curious how people felt about bringing in a troubled youngster type.

No thanks, dude is a nutcase, only way I would take him is if Sac was willing to take far less then market value, like, Diaw for him
Cousins receives a fine and apologizes...Kings have no interest in moving him and view this as a "maturity" issue and will continue to work with him...the story in the SacBee...

Cousins is a GREAT talent. He can be become a star in this league if surrounded by the right people. With people like Jordan, Oak, and Paul, we have the personal to bring out that star in him. Ill trade GW and DJ for Cousins if they would take that deal.
