Yesterday the rumors had us acquiring Vince Carter and Hakim Warrick for Tyrus, Boris and Nazr. Now the updated trade has us giving up Boris and Nazr in a 3 team trade and acquiring Chris Kaman and Craig Smith.
Here's my Bobcats blog where you can read about yesterday's rumor, and todays:
http://orangespacesuits.tumblr.com/
I posted this on my site but I will post it here too...The guy who posted these rumors also broke the news about a few other Suns trade in the past, including the Hedo Turkoglu deal 2 weeks before it happened.

Wtf is this? Completely random info. Kaman would be awesome though, as long as we don't give Tyrus (He my Baby-Daddy) I'm fine with this

Kaman would be great. I would'nt mind Vince but I dont want to give up Tyrus for him.

i loooooove the kaman/smith - diaw/nazzy trade idea more than the phx deal. i'm assuming the 3rd team adds something to la because what we give up is < than what we get back. done and done..... hope it's true. i like warrick and vince carter (from 5 years ago) and don't want to let go of t2.

I can go for the trade that brings us Kaman & Smith. Though Kaman's injury history is a little bit of a concern, I really, really like his game. And there's no doubt that Craig Smith is much more a Silas/Oakley PF than Boris is. Smith would be a very nice backup to Tyrus once he comes back; I've always liked the toughness and grit Smith brings.

Not excited by this rumor. I would rather see a three team deal with us giving up Jackson and DJ and getting back Nash and R Lopez. Jackson going to a team near contending and DJ + young assets from that team going to the Suns.

Thats unrealistic though. I dont think PHX is ready to let go of Nash.
Im excited about any rumor that nets us another All Star without getting rid of our current AS caliber players.

Any idea on when this would be happening Ammo?
I love the deal with us getting Kaman. I wouldn't be mad at the PHX deal b/c I'm not sure that Ty will ever become what we all believe he can be, but I prefer the LAC deal because if Kaman stays healthy he will provide us the inside presence we need to become a semi-dominant, consistent force in the east. If we get Kaman, I can see us making a huge run and possibly making it out of the first round.
Also, if I'm not mistaken Craig Smith makes around 3m for this year and next. I always pick him up as an extra in trades on 2k, but irl he is a rebounding machine, good solid role player to pick up as well. We are extremely limited with Nazr as our only offensive option down low. I really hope one of these deals go through, preferably with us keeping Ty.

Still not a big fan of Kaman, but if all it took was Boris and Nazr that would be fine with me.
EDIT: Didnt know Kaman had two year on his contract still. I would rather keep Boris and Nazr if thats all we could get. Craig Smith is practically identical to Jeff Adrien (http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/jeff_adrien/), who is currently playing with some D-League team.
He is the type of guy we could really use. Im not sure why nobody has picked him up yet though, maybe theres something I dont know about him.

rumor is completely baseless. his reasoning is that we wanted to "get out of" Tyrus' awful contract. if we wanted to do that, we wouldnt have signed him to that deal literally last offseason. Wince is redundant here as well

I've been snooping at a Suns site, you can get their view on the trade HERE (http://www.phxsuns.net/showthread.php?2462-Suns-News-Thread-2-14-11-2-20-11/page3).

I believe the SUNS were the ones that backed out of the first deal because they did not want Tyrus' contract, not the Bobcats. It's your right to say it's baseless, but i'm sure many others said the Hedo trade was baseless from this guy as well, and it ended up happening just as he said it would.
Anyway, What does it matter if Kaman has 2 years left? That's the same as Diaw. Who is more valuable, a former all star C worth 11 million expiring, or Diaw? I would say Kaman. So even if Kaman is hurt and doesn't offer us much, were still not adding any salary here and he is the better trade chip later on. Maybe your confused and thought Diaw was an expiring? He has a player option that he will certainly pick up. So basically Kaman and Diaw are both expiring next year, Nazr and Smith are both expiring this year. We take on absolutely no extra financial burden past next season.
I'm not sure how you can say not much money difference...Kaman will cost 2.3 more this year and 3.2 million next for a 5.5 million total...I realize that some salary has to be prorated down this year...but even at 4 million (to me) that's a sizable difference...
Kaman has only played 19 games this year...only missed 6 last year...but missed 51 the year before...and I'm no fan of "Doris" and would love to see him traded...but a guy on the injury list does nothing for your team...except draw a salary...as we all know with Tyrus being on the injury list...I relate "value" to a guy being on the floor contributing not being on the injury list drawing a salary...

My point is his contract is not any longer than Diaw's. So there is no added longterm impact and for that extra 4 million your getting a lot better production. Yes, your taking a risk in him being healthy. However I think that risk is minimal compared to the other benefits. All you have to pay him for is a year and a third. he is a much better trade chip than Diaw. Plus we have Kwame as a good back-up plan, so were not left out to dry if Kaman is injured. Sometimes you have to take risks. If Kaman is healthy like last season than your team is suddenly greatly elevated. If he is not healthy then you still have a craig smith that you can resign and you give Thomas the chance to start, which some might argue is a benefit to this team by itself. Plus, like i said, his value as a trade chip next year is much higher than that of Diaw.
Hakim is a worse version of TT, do not want the first trade.
Second trade, I'll absolutely do. Makes sense as far as being as good as possible this year and next, then blowing it up.

i think we do want to get out of his contract and if that vince and warrick deal was real i think our FO would be all over it. his contract is absolutely awful at the end and ownership i'm sure is looking at a shrinking cap and not wanting any long term deals going into the new cba. i would like this trade for sure. except we would have basically given up another draft pick for nothing.

why would we want to get out of a deal WE offered the kid 8 months ago? he has improved in every aspect of his game, and we are probably shopping Doris to give him more time when he heals up. if we didnt want him for this deal we wouldnt have signed him to it.

agreed and from my point of view, it was a mistake then. he has improved and is a pretty good player but i doubt he will ever be worth more than 7 mil a year. david west is only making 9 mil a year and although a little underpaid is far more productive. we also moved mek shortly after giving him a big contract. granted larry wanted him gone and larry is no longer here, but it is not unprecedented for a team (including ours) to have second thoughts on a contract and move it early in a deal.
I'd have to think moving TT, if we're actually trying to move him, would have more to do with how Paul evaluated him as a player, that and any chemistry issues with the team...his play was better at the start of the season...so it must be something else...or it could be as simple as the FO has decided (for some other reason) he is not a part of our long term plan...but I do find it odd....

Maybe Jordan wasn't the guy who was so hot on Tyrus in the first place...and after the guy who WAS hot on him has moved on maybe Jordan would rather be out from under that long contract?
I question whether Tyrus can continue to "get it" after LB anyway. Those two were pretty tight, and Chicago went thru 3 coaches while they had him and none could get thru to him.

Is Kaman expiring? If not, do not want.
Is Kaman expiring? If not, do not want.
expires next year at 12.2 mil. considering it will probably be 1/2 year, i think i would do it. low risk, decent reward as far as 7 or 8 in the east goes. i would object to extending him which begs the question, why do it in the first place?
If we're not going to extend him (and not get a pick) then there is no reason to do it...

i think the tyrus trade wouldnt be good. but the kaman thing im 50-50 on. if he isnt hurt then i say do it, but he isnt old but not young. but would give us that C we need with only losing boris who is more of a point forward in a fat mans body
