That's what Paul has to say about the deadline. This either means what he said....or it means nothing and a trade will pop out of nowhere like all Cats trades do.....Guess we juts have to wait and see what comes up.
I highly doubt Wojo is completely wrong about Jack/Gerald. I still expect some sort of deal by Thursday....

Given the choice of picking Silas or Wojo's opinion on what's going on with the Bobcats, I'd side with Silas.
However, don't forget Silas told Bonnell he hadn't been contacted by the Bobcats about 20 minutes before it was announced he would be our next head coach, so Silas may be providing some chin music for the Cat's trade-partner so the deal can be sweetened.

I dont believe anything the team says as far as trade talks. Wojo and everyone else says they are talking to teams about deals so I find it hard to believe nothing happens at all. Plus....we need help if we want to make the Playoffs. It's not like we want a deal just for the sake of a deal....we want to get better and we need to.

I just remember last year as Milwaukee and Chicago were in similar positions to us and made sick deals at the deadline that helped propel them into the playoffs. If we can add a piece or two that we don't currently have without leaving a glaring hole and sacrificing our future, I think we have to. No need for full re-build, but a few tweaks can make a big deal.

Thats what Im saying....we need a few tweaks....not major deals.....just a touch up. Dealing Diaw is our best bet.

Very upbeat article from Cranston, including quotes from Silas, Jackson and Wallace.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—Since taking charge of the Charlotte Bobcats (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/cha/) in 2006, Michael Jordan has made 13 trades involving 35 players.
Yet while half the roster is seemingly mentioned in various trade reports, coach Paul Silas doesn’t anticipate another major move before Thursday’s trade deadline.
“It doesn’t seem like it,” Silas said Monday night. “There’s been talk, there’s always talk, but if you give up something you’ve got to get something. That’s a major problem. People want to take what you have and give you nothing back. So that’s not going to happen. We’ll keep what we have and go with it.”
While things could change before Thursday, that’s welcome news to top scorers Stephen Jackson (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3210/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3210/news) and Gerald Wallace (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3533/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3533/news).
Jackson, who still has two years and $19 million left on his contract after this season, and Wallace, who is owed about $21 million during that time, have been named in numerous reports as possible players Jordan could move to lower the payroll of his money-losing team.
“At the end of the day I’ve got a great job wherever I’m at,” Jackson said. “I would love to be here, though.”
Added Wallace: “I’m happy here. Family is good here, I love the city. My main thing is trying to help the team get to the playoffs.”
After a terrible 9-19 start got Larry Brown fired, the Bobcats (24-32) have played much better under Silas to move within a game of the Indiana Pacers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/ind/) (24-30) for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Jordan lifted the interim tag from Silas last week and gave him a one-year contract extension. After watching his team go through a workout Monday following a four days off for the All-Star break, Silas seemed content with keeping the Wallace-Jackson combination.
“I don’t think we’d be where we are now without those two,” Silas said. “I looked at both of the today and they were excited, played all out. Gerald Wallace was unbelievable today and Jack was terrific.”
Forward Boris Diaw (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3724/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3724/news) and center Nazr Mohammed (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3272/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3272/news) have also been included in the myriad of reports and rumors. Mohammed acknowledged he checks out the various NBA rumor websites each morning, but isn’t concerning himself with being dealt.
“I read it and it’s interesting,” Mohammed said, “but at the same time nothing is done until it’s done.”
The Bobcats are hopeful forward Tyrus Thomas (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4132/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4132/news) will be able to return in two weeks from knee surgery, giving Charlotte added depth in the frontcourt for the stretch run. Thomas who has been out since Jan. 20, did some light running on Monday.
“If we keep guys healthy and get Tyrus back, hopefully, we’ll be OK,” Jackson said. “I think we have enough to make the playoffs.”
Still, not making a deal would run counter to Jordan’s history as first the managing partner and now the outright Bobcats owner. The trades reached a fever pitch under the demanding Brown, with Charlotte making nine trades involving 27 players since before the 2008-09 season.
“Every team can get better, but you’ve got ask is a tweak going to improve the team?” Mohammed said. “Sometimes things look better on paper.”

That just means you are on the no-fly list because of your last name.

I don't. I do have four cats, 2 are fine, the other 2 combined aren't much smarter than Sam.

It's not like we want a deal just for the sake of a deal....we want to get better and we need to.There is no trade that this team can make in regards to improving in the near future. The best this team can do is look further ahead and begin to rebuild. I am tired of trades for temporary solutions anyway. It is in the best interest of this organization overall to look ahead about three of four years and to embrace a young hungry group of players who are eager to learn and become great. Being mostly young is a good thing in my thinking.
Gerald Wallace is really the only player that gives this club a true identity but he has run his course with this organization and deserves to go where he can win now and not years from now. As the Bobcats are constructed they are barely in or out of the playoffs for the next two years regardless. Why be hamstrung by mediocrity with what we now have when in three years time a young and hungry team could be like the OKC Thunder? Their blueprint for success is much better than all these nowhere trades we make each season just to be 7th and 8th seeds in a weak conference.
Would it suck to go through lottery seasons for several years? Sure it would but the reward for having endured that is greater than what we think we gain each season in trades and a baron free agent market for small market teams. As it stands there is far from a guarantee that a trade at this point assures us of a playoff birth. If the team does make it they most likely take on a top three seed and get swept or close to swept in the first round. I doubt that builds any real momentum with the North Carolinian community. I just think it is time to end this journey with most of this team and for the most part have a whole new crew. That is just my own opinion and I know it is not a popular one but for me it is the right one.

I know what you are saying, and it makes sense. Just have to hope the FO gets good enough offers to try and fix this team to be a contender. We could get lucky in the Draft, but that has never happened and there is no reason to expect it to happen. Dont see Charlotte as a place for a big time FA to sign, at least not yet. Has to be some luck in the Draft along with someone paying a handsome price in a trade that really works to our advantage.
