Thank you so much Gerald for everything you did for us. You are a true class act and I hope you thrive in Portland. Most of us will miss you and I know I will have a very empty feeling when I arrive in the Cable Box tomorrow and don't see you. Sad day for the city of Charlotte.

This is absolutely crushing news...seriously, I feel really sad. Thanks for everything, Crash. You were a great player and a great person...you were just what this team needed...I feel like we did wrong by shipping you off :(

Sad to see Gerald leave the city that created his career. It's like losing a best friend, Gerald was Charlotte basketball and Charlotte loved him in return. Its been years that Gerald has been the only person people would get out of their seats for during team intros. I think that despite this season, the memories we have from Gerald are enough to last a long time. G-Force, thanks so much for the years of tough play and electric moments. You created the Charlotte Bobcats with your play, now enjoy the playoffs in the West.

Agreed. Thanks for everythig Crash. We still love you and its not going to be the same looking at a Bobcats roster without your name on it. A sad day for Bobcats fans everywhere, I wish it didnt end this way.

A Diddy Dirty Money ad on this page that automatically plays their music is making this experience even worse.

Thanks for everything Gerald. Your one guy that will truly be missed in Charlotte. Not many former Charlotte athletes can say that. #3 should be the first number to ever be retired in Charlotte one day!

Ahh fuck, such a bummer, thanks Gerald for busting your ass for us fans. Now go beat the hell out of the pacific northwest.

There's not an appropriate enough word in the Enlish lexicon that can do GW and what he's meant to us since 2004 justice. Honestly, the shock hasn't worn off, so I'm having difficulty even writing this GW as Bobcat obit.........words fail.

Thank you, Gerald, for making a shitty team entertaining. Even though the team tried to trade you for years, you were still a great teammate and kept producing. I'll miss that grin you had, the hanging mouthpiece, and that deep ass voice. I'll miss Pat yelling "Wallace Wallace Wallace) after your scores, and introducing you last. I'm glad you were able to take this team to the playoffs once as a 'Cat, and I hope someday you come back.

Good Luck to you Gerald. You are a class act. It is always a joy to watch a player who wants to win and is willing to do whatever it takes to do so. Charlotte owes you more than you realize. I'm glad you are going to a pretty good team and wish you the best going forward. You will find out on March 11th how much you meant to all us Bobcat fans. Be ready.

Just a fun guy to watch at the cable box. You could make a nice montage of all the nice blocks and break away dunks I saw him make there. There were entire games where he was the only guy out there worth watching on both teams.

Thank you for everything Gerald. You have always been a great player and one of my favorites. A stand-up guy and one of the best all-around players in the NBA. I've been a fan since I read about you in SLAM back when you were in high school (and so was I). Best of luck man, and many blessings ahead! You will be missed here in Charlotte.

Had tears in my eyes today. I can only hope that when Geralds contract is up, the Bobcats will be on the rise and looking for a great veteran as the last piece of the puzzle to a championship.

Thanks for what you have done for the team Gerald. You will be missed dearly.

I can say that while Gerald may be on another team now, he will always be a part of this team. No question about it. I dream of one day arriving in the Cable Box for a game and having a pre game ceremony putting Gerald Wallace #3 up in the rafters

Most of my favorite moments as a Bobcat fan involve Wallace.

Love the guy, and glad we got to watch him transform from a Kings' after thought to the heart and soul of our franchise.

Best of luck to him in the future.

Has the same feeling as seeing Muggsy leave the Hornets. An original member who will, in my mind, ALWAYS be associated with Charlotte no matter where he goes from here.

GW was the pulse of our team for so many years. It's not just a coincidence we were a scrappy over-achieving team in the first few seasons pre-Ham biscuit. It's no coincidence GW hated Ham Biscuit as the coach as much as anyone, it's not a coincidence GW became an all-star in our first playoff-season.

btw...does anyone want to buy 2 Wallace jerseys?
1 Morrison (at least I won that one, and it's game autographed..hmm I have one of MC33's like that too), 1 Okafor .....hmm, maybe The Hammer will get #13 back next season so my wife and daughter will still have the only active jersey number (as I refuse to buy anymore until the bobcats offer a 'trade-in' on the jerseys of players they traded away.)

All I know I hope I see him in a Bobcats uniform again one day. ALSO, I hope one day I walk into TWC Arena and see #3 in the rafters. Charlotte will always love Gerald Wallace.

Hahahaha I know that is bad but I could care less about Nascar. I just know from living in Mooresville for 7 years that more people in that area will relate #3 to Dale before Gerald Wallace. Now that I live in charleston sc, I don't really know anyone that even cares about Carolina sports unless it is the South Carolina Stingrays. (an echl hockey team)
