From an article written after the pick was first sent to Portland for Jerryd Bayless:


Sources tell Blazersedge the trade has been approved by the league office minutes ago, so it's official. The pick Portland is set to receive is top-7 protected in 2011 and top-8 protected in 2012, 2013 and 2014. After that, it would turn into two second-round picks in 2015 and 2016.

Just some info for those interested.

Ya they are 5th in the west with 34 wins right now..... Pretty much a lock for this year.

A lock yes, but the question is what the pick will be. They are in 5th, but they are also only 2.5 games ahead of 9th place Utah. They could easily end up a lottery team. Best case scenario, no matter how unrealistic, we could end up picking 12th.

so pick should be somewhere in the twenties... Jimmer Fredette? Keith Benson? Kyle Singler? Brandon Knight? Tristan Thompson?

Hey guys :) I have been a lot busy with school stuff for the late couple of years and I will be until the summer when I expect to graduate.

All I can do for this forum is making these salary updates unfortunately. Everything should be said about those trades. I'm sad to see Wallace going but I believe this trade might work out later. I don't think we still have chance for playoffs this season though.

It should be written somewhere else surely, anyway I have found the details of the Portland's pick as well:

"Charlotte also received the Blazers' first-round pick in 2011 that was acquired from New Orleans in October's trade of Jerryd Bayless, and a first-round pick that is top 12 protected from 2013 through 2015 and unprotected in 2016."
