I'm sorry guys, I can't fucking take it anymore! I love Bill Simmons, he's funny, insightful, and genuinely loves basketball. He also fucking hates the Bobcats and I grow weary of reading about how Charlotte should be contracted and there are no fans and so on and so forth. That's the general gist of it. Now maybe I'm still a little sensitive with Crash being gone and all, but I think we all need to let that prick know Charlotte is well represented. I already sent my very own go fuck yourself email, I'm sure if we send enough we may force his hand on his next article! Or at least make him comment on our voracity.

If it is true about the Bobcats then why not reduce the NBA to about 6 teams since really there are only maybe 4 that have a legit shot at a title any time soon. That is what I do not understand about the BS that being a bottom playoff team does not matter. Why even make it 8 seeds then?

I didn't mean to direct that at you more along the lines of trying to make a general statement. The current state of the NBA sucks and I literally mean that there should only be about 6 NBA teams at this point if it is all about winning a championship.

I think the main problem I find, is that most people look at our poor tv numbers and say we have absolutely no one watching televised games, which is beyond most of our control! They assume we just choose not to watch when most that I know are watching illegally online because we're desperate to see our team. I'm basically against Simmons' terrible bias against our team and NC teams in general. I mean it shows up every single time the Bobcats or Panthers are mentioned and it boggles my mind! We have teams that play hard and beats solid teams but we never get any credit from him. I think I've just seen too many of his snipes and petty shots at the bobcats lately and I've gone over the edge.

If we were one of the "bottom feeders" in attendance (bottom 4-6) I might somewhat agree...but we're sitting at 21 with nine other franchises below...so I see Simmons more as a "hater"...

Trading your franchise player also isnt making you money. MJ is aparently willing to take the hit and rebuild this franchise in his image. I respect that and will continue to watch.

If you think that contracting a team from a city that led the league in attendance for 9 seasons in a row is smart, you've lost your mind. The only difference was that the Hornets were brilliantly managed, they made great trades, and they waited their turn with an owner that poured life into the city (in the beginning).

The Bobcats have been piss poorly managed, for the first 5 years were owned by a man that could give a shit less, and haven't waited their turn (instead forcing themselves into trading for players that could possibly be good in the moment). The city doesn't give a shit because they can't POSSIBLY give a shit; literally it isn't possible. If MJ and Rod can put a smart head on their shoulders, let someone give them advice on draft picks, and make smart free agent acquisitions, they can slowly build a team.

As of right now, the team is in a terrible position, I can agree with that. But Charlotte (an North Carolina as a whole) is a mecca for basketball. We don't need to be contracted, we just need these guys to make smarter business decisions. WE NEED TO GET EVERYONE IN THE STATE THE ABILITY TO WATCH EVERY GAME, WE NEED MORE ADVERTISING, and most of all, WE NEED TO WAIT UNTIL WE CAN GET IN A GOOD POSITION TO GET A SUPERSTAR. The city needs to be able to love this team, that's the only way it will succeed.

All in all what I wanted to accomplish from this thread was us giving a fucking earful to Simmons who is a decent basketball mind befuddles his complete hatred towards the Bobcats, maybe then we'll get some respect, which in turn leads to more respect. Christ, Egypt toppled a heavy handed dictator by getting pissed off and holding their own in a square, surely we can get the media to take us seriously but telling them to fuck off! Let our collective voices be heard I say.

Keep in mind that ESPN also has us ranked as the franchise with the worst future aspirations (or whatever they call it). Not sure how/if that changes after the Crash trade or not. If we're going to vent, might as well vent at Chad Ford and Hollinger too.

Um no. there are 10 teams in the league with worse attendance records and we are only in our 7th year of existence. You can tell he has something against Charlotte, because his bits about us are never funny, just disparaging, mean and petty. Bill Simmons is funny, but he has a bug up his ass about Charlotte for whatever reason. Maybe he knew a chick from the area that rejected him, maybe he had a bad experience driving through the state, I dont know. I have my own theory though. Boston is New Yorks bitch. Even with their recent sporting success, Boston is the little racist brother that just doesnt live up to Big Boy New York. Daddy loved New York more no matter how hard little Boston tried. So now Little Boston has to go out and find a smaller kid to pick on to make him feel significant. To make him feel alive. Couple that with the Zo shot that put Boston out of the playoffs in 92 and you have yourself a grudge against Charlotte.

Truth is relative when you're speaking of one persons opinion versus another...Simmons is welcome to his "opinion"...I could care less...but in the contraction argument there are better candidates (at least nine) if the "truth" of the argument is low attendance franchises should be contracted...and if one persons "truth" is to bypass other lower performing franchises to contract a higher performing franchise (based on attendance) that makes them a "hater"...or a dumb-ass for using that as part of their argument...

Frontpager...let me be clear on this...Simmons did not use that in his evaluation...I'm speaking to anyone referencing our "need to be contracted" based on attendance argument...Simmons is welcome to his opinion...sometimes he is correct and sometimes not...but Simmons has never been overly fond of the 'Cats and I daresay if this (the trades and picks) turn out well the "best" we hear from Simmons about our franchise is silence...
