Man, I'm gonna miss him. Sorry to make a thread about this, but Gerald looked really depressed just sitting there, but being a pro as usual. When ESPN showed him, I think the arena was using the same feed and the crowd started cheering like crazy, and the analysts said it was the crowd acknowledging Gerald. He just sat there a minute and then he started slightly nodding his head as to show his appreciation, but it looked like he was really fighting back some feelings there as well (I'm sure it's an emotional adjustment for him).
Glad Crash has a A-1 fanbase to pull for him as well, that was a nice moment to see, but still bittersweet for us... Gonna miss him.
He said in the presser he was more tired than excited, I think he's still getting used to not being a Bobcat.

Saw that too and was glad to see that portland is showing him some love. But honestly seeing his depressed looking face made me want to cry.

Oh and we need to resign him asap when able to even if he is old and cannot contribute that much just so he can retire where he belongs.

He looked sad for sure. Made me feel just as sad. I keep feeling like this is some sort of nightmare or prank that will be fixed soon and Gerald will be back with the Cats. Not happening.

Damn you can tell he did not want to leave Charlotte at all. He still seems shocked that he really got traded.

I didnt see it, I wish I did. All I know is I can't wait for the first Blazers game in Charlotte. I was at Okafor's first game back in Charlotte, anti-climatic to say the least. I highly believe this will be different.

I agree with this. Crash looks shell-shocked sitting over there on the bench.

Just read that, it's so sad man. And not just that, I just read they said McMillan is gonna bring him off the bench. Gerald really got shafted in this man. I've said before, I was a Jack fan for a long time too, but sometimes I hate how he plays, but I love him as a player if that makes any sense. But, Jack is older and has only been with us a year... I don't understand why we were using Crash the whole time as trade bait.
I share the same feelings as most of you, I really wanted to cry seeing Gerald like that, looking like he wanted to cry. I hope he keeps a home in Charlotte and there better be a packed arena when Portland comes to town with a standing ovation for Crash. I also agree, I hope we sign him once this contract is up and bring him back to retire with us. Jordan shitted him man, and it pisses me off. But, I'm Bobcats through and through (and Gerald will always be a Bobcat to me).

Speaking in a baritone voice, Wallace said he was exhausted from the travel and the shock of being traded, but that he was excited to join a surging Blazers team that is in the middle of the Western Conference playoff race.
“I think my emotions are more tired than excited. But it’s an exciting team, a team that’s in the hunt for not only a playoff berth, but a championship, so I’m excited to be a part of it,’’ Wallace said.
He came off as humble, polite and well-spoken, and admitted that he is “just a small-town kid who loves to play basketball.’’
Wallace is from Childersburg, Ala. - a town of 4,927.
He will wear No. 3 for the Blazers and will play both forward positions, although his natural position is small forward. Coach Nate McMillan said at first he intends to bring Wallace off the bench, a tactic Wallace said is fine with him.
“It’s his call. He’s the coach,’’ Wallace said. “Whatever decision he has for me, I will come in and do the best I can.’’
Wallace played seven seasons in Charlotte, where he was the face of the franchise and the only Bobcats player to ever make the All-Star Game. His statistics are down this season - he is averaging 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds - which he attributed to starting the season with a nagging ankle injury. He said the ankle is close to being fully healed.

I feel sorry for Crash as well. I wish we could have traded for Kaman, I really believe we were 2 pieces, a all-star caliber vet, and a very good prospect[from this upcoming draft] away from being contenders. now we are essentially starting over.

Yeah honestly this might be the lowest point in Bobcats history, and please do not take that the wrong way as I hope you all understand what I mean. I'm really hoping he opts out of his player option to come back and play for us in 2012/2013.

This is first time he has been traded. He will get use to it, especially when they are top 4 in the west. Love the dude and will always cheer for him, but he will be happy again once he is on that court killin it.

It was terrible watching him half heartedly clap after a blazers basket. Being a good teammate and all even though you know he didn't really give a crap about that basket being made. I hope we get him back some day in some capacity.

I was kinda glad my wife had fallen asleep during the Portland/Denver game when the commentator said they'd be talking with Crash coming up. I really did think I might start to tear up. Gerald is part of the love I have for the cats, that really doesn't go away because he left - I'm just going to hope he makes a return like another class act that returned (Moose).
I hate that he's gone to the Blazers but damn if they don't become my second favorite team in the NBA the minute he becomes active for them.

The majority of the fanbase doesn't deserve to have a player like Wallace. When Wallace would have a bad game I'd see posts about how we need to get rid of him. Now, some of us are feeling the effects of how important he was to the organization. Hell, last time I posted some jackass had the audacity to say I'M AN IDIOT for thinking that we're rolling with Sheron Collins over Javaris Crittenton. First off, F' that guy for discrediting my basketball knowledge because I felt we'd go with a cheaper option...which we did so WHO WON? Second off, F' that guy for losing my faith that you fans could actually have a discussion without being a punk who thinks his idea is the only one to be had and if you don't you know nothing about basketball or the way the Bobcats run their organization!!!
Before BobcatsPlanet was BobcatsFans and my friend Brad and I had a lot of the regular posters from here over and my God I was so happy to see Wallace each night play like it would be his last! For years, I've wanted Wallace dealt and only because he deserves to be on a contending team; I am very happy Portland is that team! This rant isn't for the die hards I know supported Wallace but for the flaky shell of fans who was ready to ship Wallace out for banana peels after a bad game; they're the fans who should be ashamed!

How can you not be mad that Wallace is no longer a Bobcat. He was the only thing that made the Bobcats worth watching for the past 7 years. You take him off the team in years past and damn would we have sucked and been ridiculously boring to watch.

So they're going to bring Crash off the bench and give him most of his minutes at PF? He's going to be unhappy AND probably get hurt. Portland really is incompetent, do some research before you trade for a guy. Crash already said he was done playing the 4. Oh well, I'm sure he'll show them plenty of his new patented mid range shot in return, lol

I am definitely sad to see Wallace go, but I am happy a great player like him has a chance to contend for a title.

I found some videos of Wallace on Portland's Website, sideline interview, press conference, and etc. Don't know how to post it though.

He's getting alot of love in Portland. Kinda glad Wallace is on a competitive team who's contending in the playoff. He deserves it.

That was awesome. I watched part of it and Crash got plenty of shots but didn't knock down many (and the fans never booed him or the other Blazers for a barrage of turnovers). Had a couple good defensive plays too. He still looks uncomfortable and like he's gonna cry everytime they show him on the bench though... Even my wife was like "he looks tired..."
I'm starting to feel like part of the fucked up atmosphere surrounding our team and its fans is the lack of information provided by the reporters and beat writers. There just seems to be a disconnect. Portland fans were like that even before the internet, lol.

Bringing him in off the bench is tremendously stupid. That organization is way, way too high on Batum. I think that they feel like they can develop him into an all star eventually and I'm here to tell you that it will never happen. I don't understand the point of trading for a guy that was an all star last year and bringing him in off the bench. Especially since you're having him play second fiddle to a player that, by all accounts, has been a mediocrity.

I may be wrong but I believe McMillian said he'll start off the bench and work his way into the starting lineup once he's acclimated. If I'm wrong, then yes, McMillian is making a dumb move.
