Looks like we are now in official tank mode. At least it sounds legit with the injury, but I dont see him coming back this season.

As long as the injury is legit, it does not bother me if the season is now shot. Just improves our lottery ball chances. But I would seriously be disappointed if this injury were phony. Just gives the younger guys a lot more PT and that can only help their development.

And Jax will never get that 16th Technical so he wont get suspended a game.

Looking at him since he's had this injury, he really does need to sit until it's healed. He's not doing the team or himself any good going out there like he is. And since it's a hamstring injury, it will take a bit to heal. Hate that he can't go; definitely impacts the playoff push. Bright side is that it could positively impact our draft pick this year.

I've been saying that it was coming. I think Silas is just giving the company line.

MJ isn't as competitive as he was as a player, he really doesn't care and only is worried about the bottom line. Say what you want, but tell me what huge impact player we're gonna get with either 1st round pick this year, this draft sucks. If he wanted to change something he should've done it before the season started.

That is said with every draft, this draft won't suck.

I agree, especially after losing Felton and deciding to cut Dampier.

In his defense, many people were thinking we still had a chance to be a dangerous playoff team, especially those who saw DJ as an upgrade after Felton's playoff struggles. I think he finally came to the conclusion that were more pretenders than legitimate contenders.

Ultimately, I think he's in a very difficult position: he needs to try and generate a winning club, but he doesn't have the pieces to do so, which some justifiably blame him for. I think now he's just come to the realization that he has to something to change the direction of the team.

At worst, he's cutting costs.

Honestly, I think both Jax and Jordan are trying to fight through whatever it takes to make the playoffs. The roster as it has been for most of the season was pretty much, a first-round exiting team. At some point you have to look in the mirror and see the reality of the situation around you. Jax is a warrior and has toughed out the injury for several games because that's his make-up, as is Jordan with trying to believe that this team is up to the challenge. With under 20 games to go, I think, much like a poker player when his chips are almost off the table, it's time to shut it down. We could still make the playoffs if a healthy T2 meshes and Diaw, Hendo and DJ step up. If not, maybe we tumble into the top-7 of the draft lottery, get our SF of the future, and along the way see what guys like Cunningham, White, Hendo and Tyrus can do together.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I don't think people were saying the draft was weak in 2009. This draft is looking pretty weak though. There could be some all-stars at the top, but it thins out pretty quickly after the top 10. We are in Jimmer Fredette range right now, and that is a bad place to be.

Compared to other recent drafts, this one sucks.

I think it'd be at least a little more fair to see them play perhaps one game before we decide what kind of NBA players they are.

When there are zero "can't miss" players (Blake, Rose, Wall), hardly any guys with obvious star potential, and shallow talent outside the top 7 or so, its a pretty clear indication that you have a weak draft.

I would say Irving will be better then Wall, and I would also so, top 10 picks in this draft are all better prospects then Evan Turner

You can say it all you want. That doesn't make it true

And there's no guarantee Kyrie comes out, either.

Yeah, Kyrie looks really good but he's been out for most of the year. I think there's some good talent in the potential Top 5, and some solid PFs throughout the first round. Even if we continue to tank, we're still stuck around spot #10 which is not a great place unless somebody slips. So given the chance between playoffs and tank, it would be nice to go for the playoffs.

I am looking forward to 2013's draft. Portland could potentially suck by then with only Aldridge around (But maybe he's a FA before then?) since I doubt Roy and Wallace have much left in prime years. Also, we will probably still suck tremendously by then so we will have a decent pick.
