From what I've read, he is a defensive minded player with a limited offensive game. Started all four years at LSU, and played over 30 minutes per game each year. Never averaged over 8.6 points per game, and that was as a sophomore.
54 career games in the D-League, put up 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, shot 42% from the field, and 37% from the three.

Did we have to cut anyone?

I don't think so. Cranston's Twitter also says that the Bobcats wanted to re-sign Collins, but he missed two flights to Charlotte and blew his chance, so we signed this guy.

From the AP:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two missed flights have ended guard Sherron Collins' chance of returning to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Coach Paul Silas says they planned to bring back the undrafted rookie from Kansas after waiving him, but withdrew the offer last week after Collins missed two flights the team had arranged from his hometown of Chicago.
The Bobcats filled the roster spot Monday by signing guard Garrett Temple of the NBA Development League to a 10-day contract. Silas says he'll be the No. 3 point guard behind D.J. Augustin and Shaun Livingston.
Collins had been in that role, averaging less than a point in 20 games. But Silas says after the second missed flight, "That was kind of it."
Collins was waived Feb. 24 after two trades left Charlotte with 18 players.

Welcome to Charlotte, Garrett!
He has more experience than Sherron, and apparently more mental toughness.
Here's hoping he helps out at all, since we need anything.

He's not bad. Well, by NBA standards he's well below average, but he is definitely good enough to get a 10 day from the Bobcats. And he's young.

He said in an interview on Bobcats.com that he has known Tyrus since they were four years old. Seems like he has a level head too, might be worth having around just so he rubs off on Tyrus a little.

Temple. I know Collins isn't going to provide much. Let's see what Temple can do. It's like playing the $1 scratch-off.

we have signed a defensive minded player when we cant score above 80 points, not that our defense has been good either...

I would definitely rather have Temple than Collins. Temple has potential to be a role player, Collins doesn't have any. With that said, I feel bad for Sherron. Obviously who don't know the details of the missed flights, but it could have been out of his control.

Temple can play two positions, Collins can barely play one.

Nah, Sherron plays BA too. Buffet Annihilator.

Sherron was watching the bobcats when he was in college, was hoping to get here with Sean May so that he'd not have to take all the fat jokes.

You mean "custard filled."
[Note to self: Stop making fat jokes about NBA players. That guy almost had a triple-double the other night. You get winded walking down the street.]

You also aren't paid 9 fucking million to be in shape.

Temple’s original 10-day expires tomorrow. Coach Paul Silas says he’s been happy with Temple’s performance in practice, so giving him a second 10-day is in the works. After that second 10-day, the Bobcats would have to decide whether to sign him for the rest of the season or drop him.
