So we need a centre, Deandre Jordan is a free agent this summer and we are going to have a bit of cap room. He is a premier shot blocker + does some pretty awsome alley oops for the fans who like to have a show.
Thoughts?

I don't know. If $10M is his price, I say no. Too many question marks for that kind of investment. We have to be very smart from here on out.

No thanks if it will cost us that much. Id much rather pay Kwame 2 or 3 million instead.

Yeah, I don't think he's worthy of 10m yet... He's has great potential and appears to be coming into his own, but for what he is right now? No. He's primarily a defensive presence and dunk machine but his offense is extremely limited if he doesn't have a wide open lane to dunk.
It seems almost like what Jerome James did - got that huge contract and then sat on everyone's bench racking up DNPs and was cool with it.

10 millie for Deandre? Listen I watch Clippers games and DJ is simply not worth 10 million yet. I think he's only worth about 5 million a year RIGHT NOW. He could develop into a player who's worth a lot more but right now NO.
But I would take him here if we sign him for a smaller amount.

I'm thinking 5-8 mil would be a good investment. Then again, if Dwight Howard wants to come play here, F Deandre Jordan, lol.

10 mill is out of the question, but I have to admit that from a defensive standpoint that Deandre, Tyrus and Hendo would be strong trio and could cause other teams some trouble next season

That absolutely would be a strong defensive group; would make more than a few people think twice before coming in the lane. No way I'd pay him $10 mil a year but I'd bet someone would...big guys with some good talent usually get PAID because they're so hard to find.
hell no. his value largely extends to his rookie contract. tyson chandler wasn't worth his contract and neither will DJ

I remember saying we should've drafted him. Ahh, good times.

Where are we going to get a centre from though? I can't see us getting anyone through the draft who could really contribute now. No team is going to trade a big with skill either because well... why would you!? I really think DJ could be good if we get him for the right price

that's the point, anything over 5 million is too much. he has no skills yet other than occasional defense. he is very raw still. he will get at least 7 or 8 mil per and maybe even 9 to 10. no way is he worth that based on his current skill level.
9-11 million A YEAR? I'm a DJ fan myself, but holy hell that's excessive. He averages 7 and 7 w/ 2 blocks. Any team that pays that much for him is throwing away money. Maybe one day he'll be worth that much, but not right now.
