There was a lot of talk about the future. He said that dont rule out the fact that we will be very competitive next year. He said if the right situation presents itself he will not be hesitant to throw a ton of money into this team. He seemed to keep repeating that point over and over. There was talk about in 3 years he fully expects us to be a top 5 team in the east. Said it will keep improving there. Talked about Gerald Wallace off and on the whole time. It was very interesting and he controlled the whole room. The Most people I have ever seen at a town hall meeting. He was truely very believable. He told us in between he lines that they are heavily going after Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. Kept reiterating the fact that they have more flexibility now that ever before. Said the Gerald Wallace trade helped us build for the future. Tons of interesting stuff said

Sounds awesome. I caught his one on one interview with Stephanie Ready on the pregame and he said alot of the same things.

I agree, it was very interesting. The Wallace trade was definitely talked about off and on all night. He was very resolute in saying that the lack of cap space, draft picks and other assets last year forced them to not be heavily involved in major trades. He does not want to "sit on our hands" because of that now.
I thought it very, very interesting how he addressed the Larry Brown situation. He said that he was upset with how Brown said from the get-go that they were the only team in the East to not improve while they finished ahead of a lot of the teams he said were better than the Bobcats. Jordan was critical of Brown's handling of young players, especially Augustin, who Jordan said was in trade rumors every day and Henderson who Brown wanted in the D-League. Said Brown only thought of the moment while the front office had to look at not only the moment but the future as well. While it's clear he has respect for Brown's resume, he was clearly unhappy with Brown's attitude. (We can argue that he should have seen it coming or not, and that we figured he felt this way, but it was just very telling to see how he said this...he was very upset with Brown's approach and didn't really hide it.)
For those there, was it just me, or was there no answer that would satisfy the guy complaining about officiating? I got his point, non-superstars don't get calls a lot of the time, but he got off the rails quick to me. What did he want Jordan to do? Leave the town hall immediately and beat the head official into submission? I just didn't get how he wanted the problem solved.

Nice recap..as for how some fans can't drop an issue that can't be solved in a room...sometimes you just can't fix stupid! Apologies if they are BCP follower.

I was there last night as well. I like a lot of what Jordan had to say. As one of the other posters noted, he made it clear that they will go after (without naming them because he can't) Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. And who's to say Charlotte can't get one of those guys? They will undoubtedly have the cap room. The big market teams, with really the exception of LA will still be in "superstar mode" already with what they have. You can just tell that Henderson has the making of an All-Star in a year or two. Make some good picks this year and next and the Bobcats would very well be a top 3 or 4 team in the East if you add in Paul and/or Howard. Definitely the highlight was that woman that came up with a list of things that she used to get as a season ticket holder and didn't get this year. She definitely got MJ's attention, LOL.
i am sure nobody brought it up because everyone was local to charlotte and it is not an issue for them, but did anybody ask about getting the cats on tv to all of the carolinas on cable and satellite?

No, but someone did get up there and complained about the lack of bars showing Bobcats games on their TVs. Which is a complaint I completely agree with. It's ridiculous to have to go to a bar in the team's hometown and ask them to put a Bobcats game on instead of the Hawks/Wizards game (this happened one night when I was out at Strike City). I realize that Charlotte is a transplant town, but come on.

This is what I love about this team. How many season ticket holders (This is who it was for if i'm not mistaken) can sit down with the team owner and listen to his intentions on the teams direction and take questions directly from fans.

Sorry to get OT, but this is the closest I could find even similarly relevant...

Increased salary-cap restrictions also could make Dallas' Tyson Chandler, who will be an unrestricted free agent, available. The Rockets had a deal in place to get Chandler last summer. Though that fell through, it does indicate the Rockets' interest.
Any idea what that could have been?
Did they have a TPE? Might've been similar to the Toronto deal, but maybe TC and Diaw for Yao?

It was a deal that would have netted us Beasley and Jared Jeffries for Tyson essentially.....also involved MIA obviously. Don't remember all the details.

Oh yeah that's right...but it didn't work for MIA cap-wise for whatever reason. Or us, I don't remember.

i would like to take this opp to let any prospective STH know that i would gladly volunteer my name for one of the two free sets of tickets if you don't have anything else to do with them.
