In your opinion, which of the current Bobcats will not be on the roster next season on opening day?
hopefully nobody but hendo, dj white and maybe augustin.
tough question because it really depends on the lockout and when the season starts.
Obviously Pryz. Likely Dom, Jack and Diaw. And possibly Kwame if Cuban goes apeshit.
And I hope DJ is gone.

Hmmm. You think Cuban may throw some big $$$ in Kwame's direction?

he can't. he will overpay chandler and already has overpaid brendan haywood.

I think Kwame is going to a contender next year as a back up center. Against the Heat, he gave more effort than any other game this year. It was possible that he was trying to show Lebron/Wade what he can do. I wouldn't be surprised if he took less money to sign with the Heat..maybe even as a starting center.

Yup... Chef hit the nail on the head. Cuban isn't going to go after kwame. I think Kwame will get pursued as a backup Big on a contender (or pseduo contender). The Heat, Knicks, Hawks, Celtics, ..there are plenty of options. Many of those teams he could possibly start. His value is really against guys like Howard and Bynum.

I am hoping Kwame stays with Charlotte out of loyalty to MJ who gave him this chance. Not saying at a low ball figure, but something reasonable. But if he is out for the highest bidder, then I think he goes. I think it entirely possible Diaw is gone on Draft Day in a trade.

I actually wouldn't be against to holding onto Diaw, he will undoubtly play inspired ball since its a contract year, then we can trade him at the deadline to a contender for picks and young talent

Definites
Najera - Retires
Pryzbilla - Retires or Portland
McGuire - Cut In Training Camp
Possibles
Diaw - Draft Day Or Trade Deadline Deal
K. Brown - Free Agency
Cunningham - Free Agency
I think Najera's back spasms may just lead to go ahead and retire - he doesn't seem like the type to just hang on because of a contract. Pryzbilla is definitely gone. McGuire could be a 12th man or cut depending on the rookies. Diaw I think will be dealt at some point definitely, he's talented but no one has figured him out yet, I don't expect the switch to suddenly turn on now. Like everyone else has said, I think Kwame will get some nice offers, but I do hope he sticks around and mentors whatever young big we might draft. I also think DC will get a couple of free agency looks after his strong showing after the trade from Portland.

The following will probably be gone-
DJ White
Dominic McGuire
The White Gorilla
Kwame Brown
Najera
Dante Cunningham

Pryzbilla back to Portland, Dom McGuire just gone, Najera retires (hopefully 3 more mill to play with) Diaw traded to Clippers for Kaman (could be the stop gap to Howard since he only has a yr left on his contract) Kwame signs for a deal like Livingston with us, Dante Cunningham resigns, Dj plays a half yr next yr to be traded at the deadline for CP3

Diaw
Dom***
Temple***
Pryzbilla
DJ Augustin.....maybe
It's hard to say right now because IMO it depends on who we draft.

I think i doesnt only depend on who we draft but also where our pick will land. If we move up significantly, could give us kanter or barnes

I'm hoping it's Pryz, Dom, and Najera off the bat. Then, Diaw and Jack on draft night or by the deadline. Diaw has to be gone regardless, I just don't know if it's better value-wise on draft night or at the deadline. I really hope we can retain White, Cunningham, Liv and Kwame. That would be a pretty great 2nd unit and all have the potential to fill in as starters if need be.
Why does everyone want Eddie gone? He was terrific and doesn't cost much.
And Liv and DJ2 are under contract, polar.

I would give up the NOH pick to get rid of Stephen Jackson. Other then that I don't really care anymore.
Stephen Jackson + pick for Daniel Gibson + Ryan Hollins

Why in the HECK would we do that deal?????????
We give up our leading 19 ppg scorer for a 3rd string PG and our 2006 2nd round pick.....NO!

Yeah, that's about the worst trade I've ever seen.
GoBobs is a Jack hater to the point of irrationality.
The Front Office is trying to move Jack, but unlike with Larry or Bernie, value is going to be considered.

I only hate him b/c he is a team killer and also sucks at basketball
On this thread, I have read some of the worst responses ever.
Giving away #19 just to get rid of Jack?
DJ White likely to be gone?
Come on guys. You can do better than that.
I agree that Diaw is likely to increase in value as he is in a contract year and is an expiring. You combine those two things and he might actually have some decent value to a contender by the deadline.
Other than that, the #1 guy I think won't be on the roster is Pryzbilla and the #1 guy I hope won't be on the roster is Diop (although that is probably unlikely).

Najera plays with heart and grit, but you get the same level play out of McGuire, and he was at the league minimum while Najera is at 3-4 million for a couple of more years I believe. I just think he'll retire, I don't think he has much left to play for, and the back spasms at the end of the year may be the sign it's time for him to hang it up

I see the Bobcats bringing back Dante Cunningham as hes a restricted FA. Kwame is a possibility to stay if he doesn't get a ridiculous offer somewhere else -- I don't think hes worth more than 2-3 mill a year for 2 years. All other expiring contracts (Pryzbilla, McGuire and Temple) are gone.
Najera will be back unless we buy out his contract. Diaw and his expiring contract is probably the only player under contract we can likely move, but I see that happening more towards the trade deadline.
Jack is untradable, but our offense is dead without him. Man, paying him $10mil+ in that final year of his contract is going to suck when hes 35.

Brown at the right price is a steal. Kid was out the league last season at this time. Hes what 27? . Three years at 2 mil per is a good price for a back up center with His size along . All so the kid might have to start again for us. Whitch would make his contract a steal.
Jax is tradeable . We just not going to get two first round picks for him . We not be able to expirings for him . But i think we could get a decent contract with a decent player.
Ever one needs a scorer........
Hammer and Naj could be moved in a second for long term contracts . We don't need those things again.... Let them play out thair last season off the beanch and free the space.
Diaw has value , He could even net us a mid first . But his value would be tops at the trade deadline.
Augustine should only be moved only if we can add him with a draft pick . And pick up a piece of a core player. His contract is good and hes servicable at both the starting position and off the beanch.
The Diop contract could be moved its a bomb. It has long term crap wrote all over it . We should just let that thing expire or buy the contract out .
White , Cunningham , and Henderson ,, Management should know if they are in long term plans by now . So the proper moves should be made for each . Henderson like Augustine should have some league value.

Im sure there will be quite a few that won't be back, but I pray to god that the Boris Diaw curse is taken off of our hands.
As for Kwame goes...he can re-sign, sign elsewhere doesn't matter....you go after Dalembert or somebody, who is more talented. You won't be a serious playoff team with Kwame Brown starting for you.
Im still not a big proponent for giving up S.Jackson, especially when we probably will come out on the losing end of whatever deal is offered. Just can't keep giving up our scorers.

What is a Diaw curse?
I think most of us see Kwame as a cheap back up center , Dalembert would cost much more and in no way be part of a long term core .
Welcome to Bobcatsplanet looking foward to reading your post.

Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to talking Bobcat basketball, amongst other things.
Diaw curse is basically a term I made up to try and legitimize my personal grudge against Diaw. He's just such a lazy and inconsistent player.
As for Dalembert, of course he won't be long term, but most legitimate contenders have some type of vet players on it as well...outside of the Thunder. I say he would be worth it just from a talent upgrade alone over Kwame, that in itself puts us a few steps closer to being a legit playoff team.

Dalembert will command far more $ than Brown and for what? I view them both as back up centers. The only difference is that Kwame may be a value back up center and Dalembert will be a high priced back up center.
Do you really see a 30 something year old Dalembert as a better option than Kwame as far as a back up center goes?

I'm a bit tiffed that I missed all of last season starting in late December. I'm still a little sick to my stomach that we let Crash go, but we got 2 first rounds if I'm not mistaken... which relieves some of that bad taste. But in my opinion Jax has got to gtfo, seriously he's a team killer, not a team player. Takes way to many ridiculous shots and makes so many bad turnovers, doesn't hustle. He has got to go. Who should we keep. Well once again I missed most of this past season but Tyrus Thomas is and always will be a beast in my book, so definitely keep him on the roster. Hendo needs to stay. So does DJ Augustin, he's a quick little guard. Keep Shaun Livingston he's a solid back up point. Matty Carroll was stepping it up last time I watch. As well as Kwame. As for the rest I could really care less, except Diaw, I just like the guy. And please find a way to bring back D Brown.

We would obviously need to look at the finances and payroll. Usually comes down to numbers rather than talent, which is sad. Who would I like to see gone? Diaw.

I don't think Pryz will still be around. I think he'll either retire or journey back to Portland for the min. Then again, if that was supposed to happen we would have waived him right? Oh well.
So I do think Kwame will be back, I don't think Pryz will, I do think Temple will, I do think most of the rest will be.

"Paul Silas is great for me," said Brown, an unrestricted free agent who wants to remain a Bobcat. "He helped me out, mentally, and just allowing me the opportunity to play. A lot of times it's all about if the coach believes in you then you can believe in yourself. It was fun. I had a great time playing this year. The people embraced me and, hopefully, I can stay there."
Love of the game
Brown was attending the Bobcats' mini-camp but said Silas allowed him to leave to travel to Pooler. Brown said Wednesday's camp was his first in the Savannah area.
I know this probably isn't a popular stance but I personally think retaining Kwame at a reasonable price is one of our top goals for the off season. After reading thiings like this and previous ones as well, I think it has a good chance to happen.

Kwame was born in the low country too, so he may have family connections down there that made it more interesting to attend. (Not to downplay his attendance. Just saying.)
