It would really benefit the Bobcats in the long run.
We would be back in the lottery again with a much stronger draft class and there would be a couple of big name free agents out there ( DP3 and Dwight Howard ).
I absolutely positively hope that there is a season next year, but if not there are some positives.
What are your thoughts on it?

I think those chances are diminishing because of the happenings with the NFL lockout. Supposedly the players union are seriously thinking of decertifying and going a similar route through the courts just like we are seeing now in the NFL. Very possible that a judge will let there be business as usual while the league and players work things out.

as i have heard it they won't decertify no matter what they are saying now. the big difference is that the nfl has no guaranteed contracts so decertifying doesn't do anything. if the nba players union decertifys all of the guaranteed contracts are no longer valid. if that is in fact the case, there is no chance in hell they do that.

That is the exact argument I have heard as well Chef. It makes complete sense also.
Some NFL contracts are guaranteeds or at least partially guaranteed. How did the NFL actions effect those contracts? Anyone know?

The entire season being canceled would be horrible for us. The teams that tanked this season will get two top picks while we get the 9th pick in the draft twice.

Maybe they would hold a new lottery prior to the 2012 draft.
They would have two lotterys, yes. But I have a feeling our draft spot would improve if there is actually a season.

Teej,
You see us having a worse record next season than we had this season, if there is a season?

Yes. No Crash, aging Jack, and possibly no Kwame. It'd take Hendo becoming an all-star and Diaw giving a shit to be better.

Not to mention the whole season will be predicated on rebuilding while at least in previous seasons there's been the possibility of a playoff push.
It would take a lot of variables to come together for us to be more successful.

it depends who we draft and who we get in FA this summer before we can start making statements about next year. Here is an idea, if there is a lockout. The whole bobcats team go over and play for Diaw's team, that way they stay together. Get good team spirit and get Diaw's team winning some games. Silas could headover aswell. I know it would never happen but it would be pretty cool
