This is an article that Stephen Brotherston wrote at Hoopsworld...no surprise we're in it...this is his take on us and a link to the full article...

Charlotte Bobcats - 2010-11 season 34-48, 2011-12 Salary commitments $50,914,794It will be tempting for the Bobcats' General Manager Rod Higgins to try and upgrade his roster by trade or free agency in an attempt to sneak back into the playoff picture but when All-Star Gerald Wallace was sent to Portland for Dante Cunningham, Sean Marks, Joel Przybilla, cash, and a 2011 first-round draft pick at the trade deadline, the roster demolition sign was lit and Higgins shouldn't turn it off now.

The Bobcats have a core of young players to build around. Tyrus Thomas, D.J. White, Gerald Henderson and D.J. Augustin and (possibly) restricted free agent Dante Cunningham are all 24 years old or younger, have good potential, and represent a reasonable financial commitment. Plus the Bobcats will have a top 10 and a top 20 draft pick this year to add to their young core.

Like the Cavaliers situation, everyone else can and should be moved but the Bobcats do not have to take significant risks either as only Stephen Jackson $10,059,750, Matt Carroll $3,500,000, and DeSagana Diop $7,372,200 represent significant salary commitments after this coming season.

Moving their veteran players will mean the Bobcats will not win as many games next season but the team's future is in their youth and sacrificing significant playing time to the team's veterans will only delay their development.

Charlotte has put themselves in a great position to start over. The time to do it is now.

Can't really argue his points. Just shines more light on the fact that it is really important for us to make great picks in next month's draft (a little help in the draft lottery next week wouldn't hurt either).

First thing that came to mind when seeing the thread title was Orlando and that blockbuster trade in December.

As for the 'Cats, well I'm just waiting for draft day.

Still pretty frustrating that we spent so many years as a lottery team only to assemble the roster of Felton/Jackson/Wallace/Diaw/Chandler/DJ/Hendo/Nazr/Tyrus Thomas. Then we give that team one playoff series (in which Stephen Jackson completely killed us with terrible shooting) before deciding to break it all up and start shipping out pieces for ten cents on the dollar.

Wait, wtf we have just spent all these years in expansion franchise hell and have nothing to show for it besides the 19th pick in this draft and another pick around that range two years from now. Duh! Oh wait we have Tyrus Thomas,........... but actually we still owe a pick for that guy. A pick which could likely be very good if we finish in around the same range as last year and next years draft is better. What a waste of a nice facility. I was hoping our front office wouldn't totally screw things up but they have. Our future is the panthers last year or the T-Wolves these last few years, maybe we will at least be lucky enough to land a good player if we get a top pick.

I dont think they can get that pick till 2013 if we continue to rebuild. On the bright side, this is a great time to rebuild. Only one of our players(Inferno) needs to be resigned before the lockout/CBA changes so we will be in a good position to get our players deals under the new CBA.

How the hell does Matt Carroll make 3.5 mil ? and the fact that Diop is making 7 something mil is even more ridiculous.

Saw Diop play in high school. Never would have guessed he would be making 7 million today. good lord, he was a project back then, could barely move up and down the floor. Increasing payroll can be done by fans going to more games. Think about it.
