Rick Welts just announced he is gay, making him as far as I know the only "important" figure in North American sports to be openly gay.

Only reason I posted it is because he was the first. I don't care, but most of the older generation are making it a big deal.

who cares. i just hope i don't have to hear any comparisons to the civil rights era. i am pretty sympathetic to the gays (as far as a libertarian goes) but i can not stand when i hear any comparison of so called "gay rights" to what black folks went through until the 1970's in this country.
