Should the Bobcats re-sign Dante Cunningham?

for minimum money yes. He doesnt deserve any more than that. I would rather have Derrick Brown back to dance before game than Dante. We are going to draft a legit 3 anyway.

Dante can defend multiple positions AND hit an mid-range jumper. That combination warrants more than a minimum contract, and he is viewed as an asset in any trade scenario (aka PDX/CLT trade)

QO him for sure, see what happens.

He's worth a lot more than UPS.

You would rather have Brown back over Cunningham? Wow, you must not have watched the last 20 games or so of the season. Cunningham more than proved he is a solid rotation player, and Brown is a 10th or 11th man at best in the NBA.

I still don't think I'd offer him much more than a min. contract, but I wouldn't be opposed to a bit more to keep him. I think he is only going to get better. He has a solid jumper and is a willing defender.

2, 2.5, 3, 3 (Team option) that'd work for me

I'd like to see us retain him. We need a bench with potential like Cunningham versus previous guys like McGuire, Brown, Harrington, etc. At least when Cunningham comes in, he has the potential to drop 18/8 and create mismatches with his flexibility at the 3/4. I'm more elated with our bench of Liv, Cunningham, & White, as well as Thomas (though he will be starting by the deadline). All we need is a Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, or Joe Johnson type of franchise stud to vault this team into being a perennial Eastern Conference contender. CP3 or Steph Curry could be our version.... but that is a whole other conversation. But Cunningham should come at a reasonable price and be a great 6th man type of energy guy that can also log heavy minutes if we need him to.

Definitely should resign but not overpay. I'll be interested to see how the new CBA plays into his market value. NOBODY on this site is a bigger Derrick homer than I am, but I will readily admit that Cunningham is hands down the guy who would contribute more to this team. And to quote Mark Jackson "...and it's not ever close". If we were a championship contender and needed a really likable and energetic towel waver, UPS could do the trick.

Yes, amidst that disappointing end to the season, Cunningham was one of the few bright spots.

I think he can be a great player in the NBA, he's got all the attributes and just needs to keep improving
