If we end up drafting a SG with pick #9, would you all be inclined to move Hendo for a 29 year old veteran? Or would you keep Hendo so he'd be motivated by the rookie?

i wouldn't move hendo for a vet unless it was cp3. i don't want the salary for a player that isn't an all-star. i would entertain hendo for a next year potential lotto first.

I would consider flipping Hendo for a young player (under 24 I'd say) who can play the 3 off the bench and maybe develop if we draft Alec Burks. Somebody whose stock is down? Wesley Johnson, Evan Turner, Gordon Hayward? None of those really sound that appealing now that I list them though.

I do like Hendo though, and I think I might prefer to just draft our own 3. Leonard, Vesely, Hamilton, Honeycutt, etc.

^Gordon Hayward? He was killing it near the end of the season. I would probably trade Hendo for him. doubt the Jazz would do it

Thankfully, the front office doesn't share the views of Mr. Williamson :p

I'll take Hendo over Gordo 11 times out of 10.

Wasn't Gordon Hayward the 9th overall pick in last year's draft?

I don't see a reason to trade him right now..... he played well down the stretch and I think his value will be even higher after this season.

The NBA is about improving the pool of assets you have to compete. That is a combination of players, cap space/flexibility and coaching. Coaching is the easiest to adjust (if you are willing to buy-out your existing coach..MJ was). GW's trade shows that no matter what your intangible value to the organization is, you could be traded if you were offered enough in return. I hope Hendo isn't trade, one of the things that really makes him value to the organization is his rookie contract.

GW became expendable because he was due $22M over the next two seasons, for $9.6M we could lock Hendo up for the next three years. This is why I think it's very unlikely that Hendo would be moved, but..it's a business, if the right deal comes along that (in your mind) improves our chances to compete on the floor while keeping our assets neutral, or positive, you make a change/trade.

This. He is just starting to come into his own, and we want to trade him? That's the kind of move that will keep us in mediocrity.

I can understand Hayward... and Johnson(at least for now), but you're seriously undervaluing Turner here.

Probably. I honestly haven't watched much of any of those guys, I just know that in the popular media and fan perspective, these guys have sort of been written off and I was working off of that. I have no clue what their actual standings are within the actual basketball management community are.
