Milwaukee Acquires: PG D. Augustin, $2.32 million trade exception, No. 19 pick, No. 39 pick
Charlotte Acquires: PG B. Jennings, SG J. Salmons, PG K. Dooling
Your thoughts? I personally like this trade, or at least trading for Jennings. We would keep #9 and going off straight bias here I happen to love Brandon Jennings (hence the avatar) thus would love him here.
Have a feeling a lot of you will call him a headcase, but I think this kid has real talent.

I'd rather have him than Augustin, but that price is too steep IMO

I see what you mean, but I'm sure you could swing a Salmons-for-Okur or something similar, that would at least put the overpaid guy at a position of need.
If you put Stephen Silas with Brandon, he could be an All-Star, easily.
Jennings/Hendo/Jack/Tyrus/Okur with Diaw as the 6th man would be a very, very good lineup.

that is slightly better than an 8 seed, maybe.

Just put him on the floor when the Bobcats are playing and he's an all-star. In 7 games against the bobcats, he has scored less than 19 points...once. He's averaged 22 pts, 6.6 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1 triple double vs. the Cats.

I would do that trade NO DOUBT.
Basically our draft could be Brandon Jennings and Alec Burks/Kawhi Leonard/Marcus Morris/etc......sounds great to me.
Our core could be Hendo/Jennings/Tyrus and that's better than DJ/Hendo/Tyrus because Jennings is already a semi star and DJ isn't that far from his ceiling to be honest.

Getting Jennings would be nice but Salmons being owed something like 32 million would make the trade a nonstarter for me.

Yeah Salmons' contract is bad, but some form of trade for Jennings that wouldn't lock us down with a contract like Salmons' or Gooden's would be great. Diaw's expiring could come into play.

...
No.
Going from DJ to Jennings is like going from a Honda to a Lexus.

Technically Lexus is Toyota, so there isn't much of a difference :rim:
Salmons' contract makes it a no deal from me. They're looking to trade Jennings, not the other way around. We'd be in the position of power, so there's no way they pawn that contract on us and take two draft picks with a good PG.
The upgrade from DJ to Jennings isn't enough to make it worth losing the picks and taking Salmons.

It's worth one of the two. If you find a way to maybe give them Jack for Salmons, or to keep the picks but take Salmons, I'd do it.
I have no interest in Salmons and his salary...I'm not sure why we rolled the dice (trading what I considered our best player) and build through the draft...to consider taking on another albatross contract instead of doing what we planned....building through the draft and dumping (not taking on) crap contracts...
I like Jennings but have no interest in Salmons...the Bucks can keep him if that's the deal...

One of the two, yes. But not both. If it's 19, we trade Hammer/Eddie/etc along with them. If it's 39, then we coo'
we trade Hammer/Eddie/etc along with them.
Eddie is a 2.8 million expiring, there's no need to trade him. Hammer absolutely.
Hell, I'd give them #9 if they'd take Diop back.

I would totally pass on Jennings. He isn't really any better then DJ over the course of a season. He isn't a top 15 point guard and may never be.
16ppg on 39% shooting 32% from 3, 80% from free throw, 4.8 assists to go along with 2.3 turnovers
or
14ppg on 41% shooting 33% from 3, 90% free throw, 6.1 assists and 1.9 turnovers
really who cares

are yall serious? DJ is a better PG then Jennings.. Jennings was competely GARBAGE This season, why do you think the bucks want to trade him? and you're suggesting that we taken on salmons contract as well? WOW  For us to trade DJ for Jennings, they would have to include THEIR pick

it's not jennings, it's the players he is on the floor with. hendo/jax/tyrus/random center is not good enough in the east next year for anything more than maybe an 8 seed. boston, miami, chicago, orlando (if howard is there), indy, ny, atlanta, phil all better.
i would not take on salmons unless it is possible to keep him and sign two max. if we could flip jennings for cp3 and sign howard to run cp3/salmons/jax/tyrus or oakafor/howard, i would literally crap my pants.

In what world is Jennings a better player than DJ? Oh I forgot, he dropped 55 on the Warriors in his rookie season. So he must be good trololol. And then we have to take back Salmons without giving up Jax or Diop...yeah, uhmm...no.
edit: I just thought about the scenario of having Salmons and Jax on the court at the same time. Two of one of the worst ball stoppers in the league. It would be funny though.

hahaahah it would be awful. I reckon we would end having the ball tied up and having jump balls between our own team. Seriously though, Bucks fans were beggining to get annoyed with Jennings last year, he was viewed as lazy and coasting

Last year we had a guy almost come here who was viewed as lazy and coasting, one Michael Beasley, who ended up having a great year.
Jennings is 21 years old, he missed 20 games with foot injury, and was surrounded by "talent" that couldn't score the ball anyways. Even John Salmons who should have helped with the scoring load, decided he would sit on his money instead of play.
I just believe that if Jennings were offered for the right price, we go from Augustin who is probably close to his ceiling, to Jennings who could turn into a very special player.

I dont disagree with that, i would prefer jennings to DJ aswell. Its jut what we would have to take and lose to get him.

Jennings is a nice talent, but I don't get the impression that MJ and company ditched salary and obtained draft picks to get Brandon Jennings. Not saying he's not a talented player or couldn't help the team, just that I think a bigger swing is going to be taken.

That's a good point, and it does seem pretty clear MJ will be going hard after Chris Paul. I guess I see Chris Paul as a bit of a pipe dream though, I mean honestly, outside of Bobcats fans no one really believes Chris Paul wants to play here. That's why I would welcome us going after Jennings, or someone like him, say Stephen Curry. They are talented point guards with the upside that they could develop into All-Stars.
And plowman, I wouldn't take Salmons with Jennings, that "proposed" trade was just an example. Considering the Bucks aren't the ones in the driver's seat, I doubt any team will offer something ideal.

Because we're the Bobcats and, by tradition, we love to get raped in trades.
