I'm a little concerned that other teams have been bringing in prospects and as far as I can tell we've yet to schedule anyone...we have three picks so I really thought we'd hit the ground running but I guess not...:g:

1. there is still lots of time. i suspect it will be picking up over the next week or 10 days. it doesn't take a month of workouts to decide who you are going to take.
2. maybe/hopefully we are looking at making moves

Didn't realize teams were starting to work out players. We did try that multi team free agent/draft thing that got shut down by the league, so there's that at least.

BRNC Your timing suck right now haha, just as you said with Kanter's knees draft express squashed that, and now you post this, and yet again:

As of today, Burks, Kanter and Williams are the only ones from the Top 10 projected picks to have anything scheduled. The workouts are just now starting to get formed. We will have some of the top prospects in soon.

Rather #19 targets and bunch of local kids/ filler bodies for workout drills.

They can do plenty of harm actually. Do some research on the psychology of memory RT @crnlvn: Surely extra workouts can't do any harm though

Some NBA people think you can ignore draft all year & then catch up at the very end. That's how mistakes are made. Better off watching film.

Teams like New Orleans, Phoenix have it right -- no workouts at all. Do you work doing the year watching actual basketball & you'll be fine.

Comparing the amount of NBA workouts that are conducted today as opposed to five years ago shows how much their importance has diminished.

Media making too big of a deal out of private workouts. Very misleading setting that tell very little about a player's actual NBA potential.

And it's telling me my post is too short.

docend...no matter how much film anyone watches it will never give you the "face time" that helps "sizing up" a player to get an idea if they fit with your team...it also gives players a chance to explain anything that might have come up on back ground checks with former coaches/teammates...

I agree that the actual work-out portions are "somewhat" a waste of time except you get a clear idea of a guys ability to listen to instructions and follow them or if they don't understand do they have the back bone to say "what do you mean"...?

the "workout" portion is largely useless. You won't learn anything about a guys game that you can't see from the previous year in film. The "interview" process though, that can help/hurt a player's stock tremendously

This.

5 minutes in an interview with MJ, Rod and Silas is more important than 20 games of film.

The interviews are probably the most undervalued part (by those not doing the process) part of the process....
