I know Bonnell is saying Singleton at 9, and while it wouldn't break my heart, I'm thinking Alec Burks or Klay Thompson there and the best available big at 19 - someone who could play some center.

Leonard at 9. Tobias Harris at 19

I really like Jordan Hamilton from Texas University. I'm also high on centers Kris Benson from Oakland and Nikola Vucevic from USC. I don't see them going with Hamilton at number 9, but I think Singelton is just as much of a reach as he is.

I hope it's Leonard at 9 and Vucevic at 19, though I wouldn't be mad at a Valanciunas and Hamilton combo either. I personally want to stay away from the SG's in the draft this year. At first I liked them because they fill up the scorer's sheet, but Burks, Thompson, and Brooks have all been scattered since the end of the college year from pick #8 - pick #25, so I'd rather not spend a pick on them.

If we take a SF with 9, then Vucevic should be our only target at 19

If we take a guard at 9, then Hamilton, Harris, Faried, and Motiejunas enter the discussion (along with Vucevic)

You are making too much sense tonight. I cant argue with you on these points you are making. :-)

I haven't been keeping up with the mocks, but I'm starting to like the Klay Thompson pick at 9. I don't think Leonard will be there at 9. I do know that I don't want Singleton at 9. I read that it's rumored the Warriors are really liking Klay and they are only a few picks behind us, so I think it's reasonable and I think he's going to be a really good to great offensive player.

At 19, I hope Marshon Brooks is still around, if not I guess Jordan Hamilton.

If we trade the picks, I hope we come out with a good vet player in the trade, but hard to tell who we would be able to pick if we move up or back...

Honestly though I can work with anyone.

Really tough to call this draft. And while I may be dodging the question this is what I have come up with.

Listed in order of preference if they are available...

9. K. Walker, K. Leonard, T. Thompson, Marcus Morris
19. M. Brooks, C. Singleton, J. Hamilton, B. Biyombo
39. N. Smith, J. Johnson, J. Williams, J. Selby

I dont like Klay Thompson. Not a fan of Harris. I just question their competition. If we reach at #9 for someone I hope its Brooks over Singleton.

• The Bobcats are said to be all over Chris Singleton with the ninth pick, but would take Marcus Morris if they’re stuck. Nicola Vucevic would be Charlotte’s choice with the 19th pick if he’s still there.

Most of the good "mocks" have Singleton moving into the lottery...and I'm not sure why anyone would be opposed to a guy that already plays "D", has tremendous upside on the "O" side, and has two years behind Jack to become a solid starter...the Melos and LeBrons have to be guarded so what's the problem...

Vucevic will bring some offense and rebounding to the "5"...and hopefully we get a guy who can score off the bench with #39...

I'd be satisfied if this is how it plays out...

These are my wants for each pick.

9: Kemba Walker, Bismack Biyombo, Kahwi Leonard, Alec Burks
19: Chris Singleton, Marshon Brooks, JaJuan Johnson, Nikola Vucevic
39: Jeremy Tyler, Norris Cole, Trey Thompkins, Jordan Williams

Some of these are obviously dependent on who we get with our previous picks. But, that is the order I would take them in should they be availible.

Draft Express via Yahoo Sports has us taking Leonard at 9 and Burks at 19. To me, this would be the best possible draft we could have.

Package Jackon with the #9 and start rebuilding, much like the Cavs are doing. This draft is historically weak. I honestly don't think a single all star will emerge from it other than Kyrie Irving and that's only because he's going to be playing on a terrible team so his stats will be inflated.

Get a couple of draft picks and young talent in the upcoming drafts, which are much stronger from top to bottom.

I will be shocked if we don't pick Singleton at 9. They've been having a crush on the guy for months and he presents a lot of the similar skill sets to Gerald Wallace as far as versitility and defensive skills go. I think Wallace is more explosive but Singleton is much stronger. Outside of that, I wouldn't be surprised if they dealt pick 19 for a future 1st. The big guy from USC makes sense but in a draft lacking true centers, he'll be off the board by 19 so don't be shocked if we land only Singleton and ship 19 off for future considerations.

Because I went to Colorado, I would love to see us pick Alec Burks at 9 (or 19- if he's still available then).

Chad Ford's Day Of Mock V.7

#9: Kawhi Leonard
#19 Marshon Brooks
#39 Malcolm Lee

That would be a successful day.

His commentary is below:

#9
Analysis: The Bobcats will be thrilled if Leonard is still on the board here. While Leonard isn't the same player as Gerald Wallace, he brings much of the same intensity. Bismack Biyombo is also an option here, as are the Morris twins and Alec Burks. But I doubt the Bobcats could pass on Leonard.

#19
Analysis: The Bobcats, in this mock, get their defender with the No. 9 pick. That means they go pure offense 10 picks later. Brooks is one of the best scorers in the draft and would be a good long-term upgrade at the 2. Shumpert is also a possibility here.

#39
The Bobcats really need a big point guard to play when teams overwhelm D.J. Augustin with size. Lee is one of the best perimeter defenders in the draft and has terrific upside.

A PG with a 6'10" wingspan...hello passing lanes http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/results/players/_/id/19274/malcolm-lee

I've stated it several times, but my favorite first rounders in our range are Texas SF Jordan Hamilton, USC C Nikola Vucevic, Providence SG Marshon Brooks, and for the 2nd round, I really really like Oakland C Keith Benson

Leaning strongly toward #9 Biyombo, #19 Hamilton and #39 Goudelock or Malcolm Lee. Cannot say for sure I will feel the same in 1 hour.

I want BitchSmack. Not only does he have a great name (it ain't Eaarrrrrrrrrrrrrlllll, but you can't have everything) I think it's possible he could really turn out to be a great steal. If he doesn't...it's only a frigging 9th pick. We've blown top 5 picks more than once.

Take the gamble I say.

The others I don't care. Get BPA/most upside. We're supposed to be all about the future anyway.

Our best two draft scenarios IMO:

#9 Jonas Valanciunas

#19 Alec Burks

#39 Norris Cole

addition: DraftExpress actually has Burks dropping to us at #19 that's why I did the first one...Jonas is just a fantasy drop to me...

Second:

#9 Kawhi Leonard...C. Ford has us taking him in the latest mock 7.0...

#19 Nikola Vucevic

#39 Nolan Smith or JaJuan Johnson...either would be excellent here...

I'd be very happy with either...

Anyone wanna explain to me why Sorenson was so in awe of Biyombo in the paper this morning and was claiming we "better take him" at 9? If we should take anyone at 9, it better not be Biyombo...just isn't what we need right now.

Because Sorensen is unaware, uninspired and generally about a week late on any credible news related to the Bobcats. Heck, he make Bonnell look like a genius on the topic of basketball.

I may poopoo in my pants if that's our draft. A possible stud big, a quality wing and a backup pg would be perfect.

I really hope this is "smoke" to get a team picking before us to take this guy...

Scott Howard-Cooper (http://twitter.com/SHowardCooper): Talked with another GM who has Biyombo #9 to Bobcats. Interesting. Either sets up a trade or playing w/ 6-9 center. No need for another PF. now (http://twitter.com/SHowardCooper/statuses/83971235347824640)

Sorenson says he's closer to 6'7". I don't have a problem with it. The guy's like 260 lbs with 5% body fat and he has a 7'7" wingspan. He'll have a low and very solid center of gravity which will help with positioning. If he can rebound, block shots, defend the post and run the floor he'll make the Bobcats better. There will be plenty of wings available at 19.
