Is Jonas Valanciunas worth waiting for? ( http://t.co/ac5Yhp9)

for sure. We are in no rush, its not like if we have him this year then we are gonna compete for anything. Let him develop, fill out. We will have another non play off year and keep our lottery protected pick which the Bulls have. Add some quality player next year as that draft is stacked. Then bring Jonas over who will be physically more developed. Then take a run at some 2012 free agents. Thats my plan anyway
We'd be foolish to pass on him if he's at #9...I like him better than Lopez...

Also, and this is sort of mentioned in the article, if there's a lockout this year, it's almost better for him to have not come over because at least he'll still be developing in a team and competitive environment.

For most other teams, sure.
For us, the FO wouldn't go for it.

prob but i doubt our front office has the patience. I expect him to take a big slide though

Good plan. I wonder if our FO has that much vision though.
And if they don't, is it because they don't have the vision or are they scared the fanbase doesn't have the vision?
I would love for Jonas to fall to us at #9.

I really don't get why foreign players declare for the draft when they know they are still several years away from being NBA ready game-wise or contract-wise. Never makes sense to me. I understand their reasons individually,it just seems like a shitty thing to do.
He has an "odd" buy out...it was not in his contract so his club can ask what they want...but word is his club desperate for money so it's probably not a big deal...I just picked this up though...
"Sam Amico (http://twitter.com/SamAmicoFSO): Overseas scout who warned Pistons about Darko just sent out similar warning about Jonas V. Not trying to trash kid, just passing it along. 1 minute ago" (http://twitter.com/SamAmicoFSO/statuses/83962332073570305)

First real negative I've seen/heard on Jonas but passing it on...
