Am I the only one who thinks this is genius trade?
Jax for Magette?
Magette's 34 min per game over his career are 19.3 ppg -5.5 rbg -3 assists pg, and a 85 % FT shoooter.
Jax 36 min per game over his career are 17.1 ppg - 4 rbg -4 assist pg, and 80% FT shooter.
Pretty comparable if you ask me. Plus Magette is younger by nearly 2 years. How is this a bad move at all? We unload Livingston, who is so so at best, and get another top 10 pick!!!!
I think this is a genius trade. My 2 cents. Magette has no bad attitude or off the court problems, no technical foul issues, and has played in 30 more games in 2 less season than Jax has, so injuries are not an issue.
This is a great move by the Front Office.

Hate to give up Jackson.
He really brought SO much to this team.
Yes he made us angry and pissed, but was a crucial cog in this Bobcats team.
Will be missed.
However, Cho you are a genius for getting 7th pick. Not so genius for picking Biyombo...but I'll give the kid a chance.
Time to wait and see.

The negatives you're missing are:
Maggette's a black hole...Jax sometimes passes too much.
BBIQ
Swagger.
That being said, I can't think of a better veteran to be our leading scorer while trying to tank.
Great trade!
Well...as already said Maggs is the ultimate black hole on offense....and there is absolutely no "D" in Cory...as in never and for a team that "prides" itself of that side of the ball this is a head shaker...Jack has more BBIQ in his little toe (and I'm not a huge Jack fan but recognize who/what he is) than Cory in his entire being...

I love getting the Tank Commander. Should guarantee high pick
This is a kinda cute take fron C. Rosen's blog at hoopshype...
"Because of his defensive liabilities and his penchant for recording more turnovers than assists, Maggette is best suited to come off the bench. All told, Maggette is the kind of player who keeps both teams in the game. In other words, Maggette is a perfect fit for a chronically mediocre ball club."
