Would You Want Vince Carter?

Was just thinking about our lack of depth at SF, and remembered reading the other day that the Suns and VC were working on a buyout... So, what would you guys think of signing him for a year or two at 5mil or less?

I think it would be a great move, if he was willing to sign here, as he probably wants to go to a contender.

The little kid who remembers how he was says HELLS YES!!! The grown up and more mature verson of me says "Possibly if hes cheap (MLE (If that exists anymore)) and is willing to be a 6 man or rotational player." I would love to see him play for Charlotte though, admitidly its probably not the best fit but theres your veteran presence (besides Maggette and Diaw).

If Vince can stay healthy (a very big if) he would fill a huge need at the 3. If you can get him for cheap I think he'd be great.

My sentiments are pretty much the mixture of reactions from this thread. I was thinking if we signed him for cheap (no way I would give him over 5mil), then it could be a good move to shore up the 3 until we find a young replacement.

Vince Carter would hurt us more than he would help.

He would take away play time from the young guys(Hendo and possibly Cunningham)

And he would make us win more games, giving us a worse pick next year.

Well, I was actually think either Vince or Maggette would be the 6th man, backing up both the 2 and 3 spot if we brought Vince in. Regardless, what I'm saying is - we need a backup wing, we are extremely thin there right now.

I see this:

PG - Kemba/DJ/Temple
SG - Hendo/Carroll
SF - Maggette/Dante?
PF - BB/TT/Diaw (hope he's gone)/DJ2
C - Kwame?/Diop

I'm also growing on the possibility of trying to get Beasley or Ellis (if we can)

Only way we'd consider Vince is at a low salary, and he'd go to playoff contenders first offering the same money
